About
Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club is situated in the heart of South Hall County. The course sprawls across 150 acres of rolling countryside with natural wetlands comprising 19 of those acres. The golf course has a traditional Scottish links design that also incorporates a few mountain holes. It's a layout that will always keep you guessing. It may not be the most formidable golf course in the area, but it shouldn't be underestimated either. The course strikes a good balance between being forgiving enough for high handicappers and challenging enough for more advanced players. The par 3s are tough and the diverse par 4s come in all shapes and sizes. Royal Lakes Golf & C.C. is a shot maker's layout that requires accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The most memorable hole on the golf course is the par-5 11th, which features an intimidating island green.

Good Layout
Love this course. One of my favorite. Great variety of layout holes is the best part ! I like to walk it sometimes too, with my push cart, only 3 holes with a steep up hill, not bad at all !
First time playing
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Course was in good shape and enjoyed playing this challenging layout. I was paired up with three other people to round out a foursome and we played a little slow. Overall enjoyed it and look forwatrd to going back now that I know the layout better.

Need to mow those weeds
Played Royal Lakes many times and always enjoy the layout. However, not sure if the maintenance crew is on strike or not but there were overgrown weeds everywhere. Fiarway and Greens are in decent shape. However, those overgrown weeds make consistent chipping to be impossible even if you are just little bit off the Greens.

Rude old white guys!
Was playing 18 holes and 2 extremely rude whuite guys came screaming down the farway at 7:55 PM (sunset was 8:20) tellings us we had to leave immediately or they will call the Police! We came in at 4:20 and the lady at the shop said to be back in at 8:30. Then the guy that was yelling said 8:15 latest. We had plenty of time to be in by 8:15 but this guy had the excuse that we were the last ones and we had to leave because of that. He was looking at me with anger like a pitbull. Very sad.
On top of that the golfnow app said we had to pay $58 at the course and the lady charged us $63. She came up with the excuse that she had to charge us extra taxes. What percentange they charge? Not to mention she wanted $82 for the 2 of us. Golfnow rate was only $31... taxes seems like an excuse! Calling golf now to check.
And to top it off people with cars not belonging from the course had people playing going back and forward on the course! Nobody seem to care.
Sad to pay to be treated like garbage by this old guys. Do not recomend at all!

Bad management
Head guy running the place is unprofessional squeezing in members messing up the flow and rotation of the players . Rude too .

Royal Lakes
I love this course. It provides a variety of challenging holes with some beautiful views set around several ponds. For this early in the season the course is in good shape. I look forward to playing several more rounds of golf here !!!!

Challenging, fun layout
Hadn't been here in a while. Nice, sunny day, but windy. Enjoyed my round very much. The course is challenging, lots of water on the back nine, but fun. The island green at 11 especially (birdied!). All-in-all a very good day.

Great
Every course is wet right now so a little mud was to be expected. But overall, the course is in great shape. I was running late but the staff was accommodating. I finished in no time. Now if I’d just played better...
