About
Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club is situated in the heart of South Hall County. The course sprawls across 150 acres of rolling countryside with natural wetlands comprising 19 of those acres. The golf course has a traditional Scottish links design that also incorporates a few mountain holes. It's a layout that will always keep you guessing. It may not be the most formidable golf course in the area, but it shouldn't be underestimated either. The course strikes a good balance between being forgiving enough for high handicappers and challenging enough for more advanced players. The par 3s are tough and the diverse par 4s come in all shapes and sizes. Royal Lakes Golf & C.C. is a shot maker's layout that requires accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The most memorable hole on the golf course is the par-5 11th, which features an intimidating island green.

Covid 19 lockdown
Finished a great round right at lockdown time. Course was busy but staff had everyone spaced out and pace was pretty good. Greens rolled pretty good for this time of year. Grass is starting to come in good.

Raised golf cups
Because of the Coronavirus Royal Lakes have raised the golf cups on every golf hole. This is not golf anymore This takes away about 30% of the game away.
I'm not sure how this is preventing the spread of the virus. This is not distancing. i just didn't understand why the course elected to do this.
Thank you for your review. We did this so people are not sticking their hands in the cups to retrieve their balls. The goal is to reduce the touching of communal spaces as much as possible. If everyone sticks their had in that cup, then the virus is easily transferred if one of those people was ill. All that we do is in an attempt to keep our golfers as safe as possible. We hope you'll return again in the future.
Royal Lakes
A few areas of the course is still pretty wet. About the time this course is in prime shape, I’m worried the Coronavirus will have everything closed. Beautiful day to be on the golf course

Good value
Great course for the money. I like how they’ve tried to minimize the virus risk. I’d enjoy it if the left the pins above ground after things are back to normal. It improved the pace of everyone.

Great layout
This course is a great layout for all skill levels. Has some beautiful holes especially around the lake. Risk reward is always in play making you decide whether to play it safe or take a risk and go for the greens.

Great course
Love this course , just a fun course to play . Only complaint I’ve it seems to always have a shortage of cart girls . Besides that play on !

Tough course
Soggy conditions after 3 days of rain. 1st time for me playing this course. Some really tough holes, especially island green hole. Enjoyable round of golf with my sons.

Good course considering mid winter conditions
It was cold so course was not busy. They were completely caught up from an early morning frost delay so pace of play was around 3 hrs. For an 11:10 tee time
Greens were good, as were fairways, bunkers were great.
