Went to this course on Sunday, based off of the glowing reviews from several co-workers of mine. However, I was greatly disappointed in the condition of the course. The tee boxes and greens left a TON to be desired. The greens were incredibly slow and had black spots all over them. The tee boxes on some holes felt like I was teeing off from the rough.....

Left there and went to Chicopee Woods later that afternoon. That course was in BEAUTIFUL shape.

I live closer to Royal Lakes and Reunion, but without question, I will drive the extra few miles to Chicopee Woods for a better experience.

The greens were in horrible condition. Sand, dirt, hallmarks, all over the putting services. We were told holes five and six putting greens are in bad condition, but almost every putting green was in bad condition. The fairways and tea boxes are in good shape, very long rough at this time. Difficult to find your ball if you hit it off of the fairway. Have played this course many times in the past, enjoy the play out. Will not be back for a few months, hope their greens heal.

Always fun to play with friendly and helpful staff. Fairways in great shape but greens severely stressed with multiple instances of patches where there is no grass possibly from a fungus. Still playable and normally in great shape.

The greens are soft. Some greens are developing spots with degraded turf. Looks like overwatering. Overall, very good golf experience.

Very disappointed with greens. They are chopped up and have black patches all over them. Funny thing is that #18 has the best green. Go figure the only green you see pulling in is #18.

Everything else is good. Cart girl value. But, at the end of the day it comes down to the course and the condition. It was not worth the money I paid.

the course condition was good until you get to the greens. More than 1/2 the greens have big black spots scattered across them. The layout is fair. Rain from the previous night really softened things up and wet spots were prevelant throughout the course. In the past I would recommend the course but right now, until the greens comeback, its off my rotation.

I really enjoyed the par 3s and the course layout. I plan to this course again.

some holes you will want to hit less than driver so as to feel more comfortable with a full swing. could get into a lot of trouble, hitting thru some of the fairways. the greens are large and not too sloppy and some show black fungus and unfixed ball marks. course is in great shape other than that. we played the back tees so some par threes are on the long side. I love the layout and the challenge of this course.

Course has a full compliment of different type holes. Water, sand, high rough. Many risk reward holes. Greens were soft with lots of ball marks and a bit bumpy.

I played this course a year ago and it was in great shape. I played it again yesterday and wow. Grass was long. They were watering in between holes so everything was soaking wet. There were more divots and messed up greens then I have ever seen in my entire life. You might as well been putting on asphalt. I don't know what happened. But you can tell they have ignored taking care of the greens. Maybe start giving out free divot tools. I will not play there again for a few months to see if it has changed. It has some cool holes but the greens are an eye sore and not managed well. Also two kids were fishing on the pond right next to the green the ranger went up to them and then nothing happened. Luckily I did slice it. Pretty disappointing overall. Will try one more time since it is close to my house.

Our 4some finish 18 holes @ 3hrs 40mins. (6,9,10,13 hanicap). On the 6th holes, head pro came out and politely asked if we can let the 3some play through. He acknowledged that we did not play slow. So we let them through. On 14th holes, we got caught up by another 3some. These old men started yelling and made comment such as "How long this gonna take?"...Once we finish our round, and told the marshall what has happened...his response was "A lot of people complaint about those seniors being rude..."

Had 2 stop after 11 holes because of weather.

Great golf coarse to play.

Our twosome played on a Wednesday afternoon. First time there and were running late. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We played in about 3:15 and loved the course. Agree with other comments on importance of local knowledge and a range finder;. 11, 12 and 17 come to mind. I've played most of the 'semi-private' courses on the north side of Atl and this one is now in my top 3. Anxious to get back as everything greens up.

We got off after 2 pm on Friday. Course was in good shape. Fairways were firm so the ball got a lot of roll. Greens are really fast. Challenging and fun course with plenty of water hazards. Course GPS with Garmin watch is accurate.

Our foursome had a great experience. We finished at very reasonable time. Fairways and greens were excellent. I like that on 17 that they change the trap in front of the green. It used to be too much a challenge.

I play all over North Georgia seeing I live there and this is a great course. I drove almost a hour to play here and it is 100% worth it. I am coming back when this course turns green. Awesome layout and some really fun holes. Plenty of blind tee shots so a range finder does help. You can't just pull driver every hole. If you get a chance head that way.

Winter golf in Atlanta can mean soggy conditions. That was true of Royal Oaks. Tee shots can be forgiving, but that means many fairways get most of the rain run off leaving the middle tough to play. But, the greens are fantastic, quick and true. And since I favor a course based on the conditions of its greens, I'll be back.

The only drawback to this course was the mud, water and bogginess on the fairways. Greens and tee boxes were good.

I have never had a bad experience here. Great course.
