Jekyll Island Golf Club - Indian Mound Course
About
Jekyll Island Golf Club is Georgia's largest public golf facility, offering three 18-hole courses and a nine-hole course. Two of the 18-hole courses, Pine Lakes and Indian Mound, have similar characteristics since they sit side by side. Both are younger than the Oleander, which is considered the toughest of the three and served as host to the Georgia Open for four years. The Indian Mound Course is the shortest of the three at just under 6,500 yards from the back tees but that is not to say you won't run into a fair amount of challenges. The layout features lengthy par 5s that you wouldn't expect given the yardage, and the par 4s offer scoring opportunities for those who take advantage of the short shots into the green. The Indian Mound Course's main challenges are the undulating greens and abundance of sand.

Fun tract!
Really enjoyed my Friday afternoon round on Indian Mound; finished in 3.5 hrs. Played again on Saturday morning which was very slow play. Fareways and greens are in good shape. Greens are on the slow side. Also played Oleander which was recently aerated and greens still need a few weeks before they are rolling smooth.
A must play course
Great value, great course, a must play! The course is well cared for and managed. Some of the fairways are tight and if you're too far off you'll need to get out another ball.
Awesome facility
The place is amazing and in terrific shape. Awesome value for the money!!! Will definitely be back
this course is amaing value for the money particulary after twopm.
The golf club has three courses and all three are excellent.
Will play again.
This was my first time playing this particular Jekyll Island course. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The course was in good shape. The greens were pretty true and not extremely fast. The fairways and tees were not in great shape but were acceptable. Saw plenty of wildlife - deer, gators, etc. The clubhouse could have been more well maintained. Overall, I will play this course again.
a great round of golf
although the pace was a little slow, we had a wonderful day of golf at a very reasonable price. we would recommend it wholeheartedly.
Only one of three great courses
Have played the courses at Jekyll Island for a number of years and have always found them in good to excellent condition. Staff is always efficient and courteous. Great place to stay and play.
A Nice Track
This was the first time playing Indian Mound. The course was in good shape and it was nice to play a course that had no houses to compete with the beauty of the nature. The course is a traditional parkland design, all right there in front of you. The only negatives were that several groups started on number 10 as we made the turn, making the back nine slow. Then, after finishing, the kitchen had closed at four o'clock, leaving us hungry and disappointed. My wife had stopped after nine and enjoyed a nice grilled fish sandwich. So, when they're open, the food is good.
good golf good price
the only problem there was to be a usa kids golf tournament on the folowin weekend and there was fathers giving lesson to kids and it created waitng, thus killing the rythm of play
Great practice facility
This course was in excellent shape. I was paired with another single which turned out to be a great round of golf. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape. Some of the bunkers were sketchy due to recent rain, but other than that it was an excellent course to play.
Good Course
Good course good condition for the amount of rain that fell prior to our round. Greens were excellent. Fair golf well trapped greens. Like to come back again.
Jekyll
It was raining and cold when we arrived and they graciously gave us a rain check which we used the next day.
indien mounds in the sun
Had a great time playing the course, for the mid-winter conditions, the course was in excellent shape, the greens were as close cut as a billiard table and the ball rolled right on the line I picked. will be back again soon, and the value after noon for 28.00 was extremely good.
Very good value
I have played this course three times to date. Each time staff was very friendly and helpful. This is a large well organized golf complex. Range balls are pretty beat up. Condition was pretty good considering this is winter and after a recent cold snap. Greens are in very good shape and pretty quick.
Nice Course / Pretty Easy
This is a well kept course and very open. Greens are in great shape, fairways are plush, and the layout is more than fair. I feel like I scored way better than I struck the ball which indicates to me that the course is pretty easy. With that said, I had a blast! You always do when you score...lol. Look for a Hot Deal tee time on this course and it's a steal! Enjoy!
Great December Course
Always enjoy the Jekyll courses, but when many courses have brown or white(snow) fairways this time of year. Jekyll courses look like early spring. Highly recommended!!!
Pleasant Golf Course
A busy afternoon on the day after Thanksgiving however still completed the round in under 4 hours. The course requires some maintenance the fairways needed cutting and the bunkers require grooming. The greens were slow but in excellent condition. I played this course twice this week and enjoyed it both times. You cannot beat the Hot Deal price on Golf Now!
Very nice and walkable course
Indian Mound is a favourite of mine. It's quite challenging and requires good planning on approach shots or one could easily find themselves in one of the numerous traps. The course is well maintained and the damp weather this year has resulted in lush fairways. Also be prepared to see many examples of wildlife, particularly deer which often stroll across fairways unperturbed by carts or golfers. On sunny days, gators can often be seen sunning themselves on the banks of the many ponds. Indian Mound is very walkable and can be played under 4 hours on most occasions.
This golf facility is a gem!!!
Stopped in while on an RV road trip. The entire facility is well maintained with an extra friendly staff. After a shower we hit the putting green and driving range. Lou, the starter, set us up, and we teed off on a gorgeous course, which was the best value I have ever played. Everything was maintained and manicured, and the greens rolled beautifully. We play again on Monday!
The wildlife was great and thecourse fantastic
everyone makes sure you are enjoying the experience
