Jekyll Island Golf Club - Pine Lakes Course

Pine Lakes is an outstanding course as are Indian Mound and Oleander at Jekyll Island. The greens are well manicured, perfect fairways and the rough is not too punishing. If I had a complaint it would be that the starter could have started me on 10 instead of behind several foursomes. That being said, it's still a great golf experience.

Course at times was challenging. First time out for the year and I was pleased with my game and the course. Had some tight areas, but overall a very nice course. Greens were in excellent shape, nicely cut fairways. Bunkers were hard, but a big rainstorm came through the day prior to our play. Overall, I would play again.

The Pine Lakes track has always been a favorite and stays in good condition. This course is fair and beautiful. The people who run the place are fun and professional.

Played mid March. Fairways on the other courses were brown and in some cases top dressed but pine lakes fairways were green.
With dormant rough, course plays wide open.
Same issues with staff as on their other courses. Example - starter couldnt be bothered to acknowledge my wife existed, he just about walked through her to ask me for the coupon (which she had held out for him to check).
Fast pace of play on a reasonable layout but again we left unsatisfied because of poor staff interaction.

This course is well maintained, nothing real special on the layout, but ok. The island itself has a few things to look at before or after the round, so it makes a good tourist course. The site has 3 courses total. The Oleander course is the more desirable of the 3. The price on the courses was reasonable, so overall not a bad choice.

Beautiful trees, lots of live oaks. Water on many holes
makes for good visuals and shot placement.
Would play again.

Played Pine Lakes. Always a fair test of quality golf. With cooler temps, seemed to play 1 to 1 1/2 club longer. Fairways are overseeded and green, but very, very tight lies. Hard to play fairway woods off such thin lies. Greens slow the day I played.

All in all, a very pleasant day on a very pleasant course.

This is one of 3 courses on the island, and let me tell you I'll be back to play those too. This course was in super shape, the staff was very friendly. The course has it's challenges. Overall it was a great experience and one i plan to repeat!

Based on some reviews I read, I was not expecting much from this course. I was wrong. The facility has 3 golf courses. We played the Pine Lake Course. First of all, the price from Golf Now was great. Under $20 for 18 with a cart on a Sunday. The front desk and starter were all friendly. Although the course was busy, the pace was great. The course is in good condition, lots of different tees to use and lots of variety. Both sand and water on some holes. We really enjoyed our round and will be back.

jekyll does a very good job for scheduling and regulating play. Course is always in very good shape. Have played there for 25 years and never been disappointed. Course has been upgraded over the years.

cost, conditioning, and layout make this one of the best courses to play in the area. tees, fairways and greens overseeded. at regular rates still a must play.

The course has a great mixture of tough and easy holes. The 18th should be the number 1 handicap hole, so save a good drive for it. The starter let a 5some play, which slowed things down. Ask before you tee off is one of the other 18s would be faster; they are pretty flexible. Nice to see the deer and birds. Don't bother looking for your ball in the deep rough, you can cut yourself on the low palms.

The slight elevation in front of most greens forces you to 'reach'the green'or have a great chipping game.

Course is very well kept, greens are well manicured, just stay away from the water & the gators LOL! I enjoy even though I have an 80 mile ride from Jax.

Enjoyed playing Pine Lakes with a great couple from Maine . Jekyll is a great place to play golf .

The course is in good shape and the speed of the green is about 9.

For the Golf Now price of $25, the course is everything you would want. With the one exception. Man the greens were SLOW. Other than that, I love to play the Jeckyll courses.
