Jekyll Island Golf Club - Pine Lakes Course
About
Jekyll Island Golf Club offers 64 holes of golf, making it the largest public golf facility in Georgia. The courses are a favorite amongst locals and visitors since it's hard to beat the affordable rates. The club features three 18-hole courses and one nine-hole course. Pine Lakes is the longest of the three full-length courses at 6,700 yards from the back tees, though the course is not lengthy by any means. The final hole is the only one on the course with considerable length. The original layout was created in 1968 and underwent a major renovation in 2002. It is similar to the Indian Mound Course, which sits adjacent to it, but Pine Lakes has a more modern bunkering system. Fairway bunkers come into play for long hitters and the bunkers that frame the greens demand accurate approach shots.

Golfer Reviews
FLETC student
Great course with a big discount for FLETC students. I played as a single on a Saturday at 2 pm and I was finished my 18 holes by 5pm. I found the course to be challenging and fun to play. I enjoyed the wide open fairways. On bit of caution; the hazards on this course can kill you if your shot placement is poor. Overall, my experience was plesent.
One of three Gems at Jekyll Island
One of the 3 Gems at Jekyll Island that showcases Georgia's coastal golf. Pine Lakes Course is one of 3 courses at Jekyll Island. These courses get a lot of play and still maintain excellent playing conditions and a friendly atmosphere.
It also is a great value and offers multiple tee boxes for all levels including youth and beginners.
It was unfortunate for us that no Marshall was on the course to enforce pace of play and "groups" joining up playing 6-8 somes.
(tournament- outing occurrence)
Will we return? Yes!! Just next time we'll call the starter.
Best of the 3
Pine Lakes is the better of the three 18 hole course at Jekyll. Moderately difficult, very well maintained, classic southern coastal layout. It poured down rain the night and morning before I played but the fairways and greens drained nicely. I think I only contended with two soggy spots on the course in 18 holes. Only negative point I have and this is generally speaking for the entire complex, don't shut down the 19th hole so ridiculously early on a Saturday. I was done playing at 3p and my father and I wanted to grab a couple of beers and lunch. No such luck, bar and grill were closed. We weren't the only ones looking to enjoy the 19th hole either. We went to SeaJays instead. Great place for an after round meal if the clubhouse at the course is closed.
It was so nice to return and visit Jekyll Island after 30 years. We enjoyed our round of golf . The staff was so outgoing from beginning to end. The course has some beautiful scenic scene . I totally recommend you to play a round ,it is well worth it
Very great experience
We got a good rate from Golf Now. The 63 hole complex was very busy when we arrived. Anticipated a rushed feeling, however it was a very relaxed round of play. The course was in great shape. We will have to play Jekyll again.
Incredible Value!
Can't beat the courses on Jekyll Island for the price. Beautiful scenery with a laid back, relaxed atmosphere. Courses in great condition. Can't wait to have a weekend golf getaway with friends. Two thumbs up!
Nicer than expected
Jeckyll Island hasn't been on my list of places to go. My son had received a gift of a round of golf for two. So, my two sons played free golf while a paid but it was worth the drive (Jacksonville) and price. It was in nice shape and was a lot of fun. I liked it because it was like courses I played years ago when I first played.
One of the most picturesque courses played.
This was the second time I played Pine Lakes. Joined up with a couple so we were a threesome. The play seemed slow, we had small waits on every hole but still played it in 4:15.
What happened is that we had the time to really look around at each hole and enjoy the scenery. Hole after hole had just enough change to see something new. Just all around beautiful picturesque scenes
that made the day enjoyable just to be outside with the golf the icing on the cake..
Well Managed
We've played the courses at Jekyl Island a number of times and have been satisfied. Weather was perfect, courses were crowded, but we got around in about 4:15. Got paired with another 2some and we had and enjoyable round. The Pine Lakes course is a bit boring, but the course was in good shape, and we were there for the weather.
Would play again
Couldn't believe the value of the Hot Deal at this place. The Island and the course were very nice. Played the main course, very nice.
Well worth the money
Went to the island to relax for the weekend and really enjoyed the course. Fairways and greens in very good condition. Staff very friendly. Cant wait till next time.
What a Deal !
Friendly staff, well maintained, beautiful course. Jekyll Island golf is terrific !
Great value
The course was in pretty good condition for 12/7. The greens were fuzzy and slow but still putted true. It was a great value for the money. The only issue we had was a foursome we caught up with on #14 would not let us play through even though we waited on every shot and there was not a group to be seen in front of them. After the round, they were with a much larger group leading me to believe they were part of a league or blitz.
Lovely desigh in a natural setting.
Challenging, plays longer than it measures, fair. Relatively tight off of the back tees. Trees a definite factor! Green speeds inconsistent and a bit slow. Guessing due to the winter rye coming in.
At times it was difficult to focus on your game, due to the numerous island deer bounding about the fairways and resting near the tee boxes!
A real bargain and a definite repeat.
Nice natural setting beautiful Oaks and lots of wildlife.
I enjoyed playing this track. It was a very natural setting with lots of deer, gators, etc...Beautiful Oaks line many of the fairways. Overall the course was well maintained. Greens ran well and had good speed. Tee boxes in good shape and fairways well maintained. It was an enjoyable round.
