Jekyll Island Golf Club - Pine Lakes Course
About
Jekyll Island Golf Club offers 64 holes of golf, making it the largest public golf facility in Georgia. The courses are a favorite amongst locals and visitors since it's hard to beat the affordable rates. The club features three 18-hole courses and one nine-hole course. Pine Lakes is the longest of the three full-length courses at 6,700 yards from the back tees, though the course is not lengthy by any means. The final hole is the only one on the course with considerable length. The original layout was created in 1968 and underwent a major renovation in 2002. It is similar to the Indian Mound Course, which sits adjacent to it, but Pine Lakes has a more modern bunkering system. Fairway bunkers come into play for long hitters and the bunkers that frame the greens demand accurate approach shots.

Golfer Reviews
Pine Lakes
The course was in excellent condition given the rains we had over the previous 3 days. The fairways were firm and there were no holes that were designated cart path only. Perfect weather and paired with a great twosome making the experience memorable. One of the best values in the southeast Georgia region.
Enjoyed this course
This was our first time playing this course. Enjoyed the layout, course both fairways and greens in very good condition. We did find ourselves always waiting for the group ahead and the group behind us was always at our tail.
So other than the waiting this course was well worth playing and I'd recommend it to others.
Great greens
The greens were smooth and fast. Loved them. Some tee boxes and fairways had just a few rough spots but the course is in great shape. Many different holes require different types of shots. Lots of fun.
Exceptional course
Overall, everything about this course was just superb from start to finish. Most places in SE Georgia are fighting off crab grass and just dead grass in general. These fairways were so clean and cut just perfect height. Greens were so cared for and had some character to them. Not an overall hard course but definitely beautiful for sure. Highly recommend even if paying full price. I paid for a hot time on GolfNow and that made it an even better experience.
Nice Course
Place wasvery busy....paired up on tee box with another guest....worked out well....course was in very good condition.....tee boxesin great shape, greens were slick as a pool table, but ran true. Overall, a great day ......will return.
Newly renovated Pine Lakes
I was anxious to play the recently renovated Pine Lake on Jekyll Island and sadly disappointed. I understand it was late March but the course showed the appearances of wear and tear that I didn’t expect to see on a course stating to be recently fully renovated. It really didn’t seem in any better shape than the Oleander course I played last year and thought it was pretty worn down. Certainly not worth the higher rack prices listed. I hope to play Great Dunes soon and hopefully not disappointed as well.
