Collins Hill Golf Club

Almost nonexistent staff, conditions absolutely awful from the Tee box, to the fairways, cart path, and greens. Not worth the money

Newly sanded greens were good. Some tee boxes need to be re-sodded and a few cart paths need to be the-surfaced.

I like the course layout and will play here again.

I'm a beginner just learning the ropes and Collins Hill was an excellent course to ease into things!

The course looks like it needs a lot of work to improve the tees & cart paths in particular. I play a lot of golf at different places & this course is like a lot of others at present - lacking $$ to fix obvious problems. The layout is good but the cart paths are dangerous in places with large deep potholes with no warnings. The greens on the front 9 looked like they had been recently renovated as they were quite long & slow but there was no course warning about this. The back 9 greens were very good.

My biggest concern was the state of the golf carts. I had read in advance from other reviews that the brakes on the carts were not so good & I can attest that to be fact. On a course set on the terrain that it is that is simply dangerous. I saw several other golfers chasing their carts down the hill as the parking brake failed & I had to do the same too. After that early mishap I parked the cart across the slope at all times.

Pace of play was great & if the course was to improve I'd come back again to play in the future.

I recently had the opportunity to play at Collins Hill Golf Course, and I must say, it was a great experience. As a MUNI golf course, I didn't have high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fairways.

The overall layout of the course was enjoyable, with a good mix of challenging holes and more forgiving ones. The course was well-marked, making it easy to navigate and find the next hole. Additionally, the staff was friendly and accommodating, adding to the positive experience.

Overall, I highly recommend Collins Hill Golf Course. The well-maintained fairways and decent greens make for an enjoyable round of golf. Great pro shop. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced golfer, Collins Hill GC is definitely worth a visit.

There were a few strange things about the course. First, you could not bring your cart in the parking lot to get or drop off your clubs. Second, the course has a "no cooler" rule. Third, with having the "no cooler" rule there was also no cooler on the golf cart. Forth, with a "no cooler" rule we only saw the beverage cart once the whole round. Also, the driving range was in shambles and you could only hit your irons. The cart path around the whole course was terrible and even non-existent in a lot of places. Most tee boxes and greens were in terrible condition! I definitely will not be playing at this course again.

The course is getting better and better each time I play. They have repaired a lot of their greens and and they are looking good. If you shoot well on this course you can shoot well anywhere.

SOME FAIRWAYS SOGGY

The actual course was good, the golf path were terrible, needed a four by four vehicle. Tee times were stack to close, we had a three group backup on back nine, par 3, I think it was hole 12, the greens had particular grass the rest was dirt, not worth the price, I will try river pine, or bears best.

The greens were pretty bad on a lot of holes. The club house had one person working it. No one was at the grille/turn to buy food. Also, the carts needed to be back at 8pm, but the sun doesn’t set until 9pm? So an hour less golf. That should probably stated when booking later tee times. All in all…just a really poor showing for the price.
