Collins Hill Golf Club
About
Collins Hills Golf Club is a little known course to outsiders, but it is a local favorite. The traditional parkland layout tumbles across a rolling terrain. The golf course features small, undulating greens and narrows fairways bordered by towering trees. The layout demands accuracy especially with the numerous sand bunkers that have been incorporated into the design. Several ponds and lakes are scattered across the course, coming into play on seven holes. The layout has its challenges but it is still gentle enough to accommodate a variety of different skill levels. Before playing, golfers can warm up on the driving range or utilize the other practice facilities. Collins Hills Golf Club's atmosphere definitely plays a role in the club's popularity, offering all of the amenities of a private club with a casual and friendly setting

Still recovering
Cart paths a mess, greens half dead, not the same course I played years ago
The one course with the Green card not worth it
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing Collins Hill Golf Club.
Poor maintenance
Fungus and other poor maintenance on every green. Big dirt patches on fairways, rocks in sand traps. Feels like a $10 course that they charge you $55 to play. Will not be returning.
Maintenance needed
The course was in decent condition but, the greens were awful. I am not sure what is going on but, players will not play there as a result. Looks as if they have a fungus. No smooth roll whatsoever.
Below average course
None of the holes were unplayable. However, the greens were anything but smooth. Most of the tee boxes were in rough shape, and the fairways were like concrete. Staff was nice. However over all amenities were subpar.

Poorly maintained Course
The course is sparse for grass on fairways and the greens were damaged by some disease making putting bouncy. Fairways do not hold the ball due to their hardness (never been watered) so a ball hitting the center of a fairway may bounce into an unplayable lie. Bunkers are made of coarse sand/pebbles.
Not great, not bad.
Tee boxes and greens need some love, sure. But, none of it was unplayable.

Rough Ride
This is an interesting course layout with lots of elevation changes. One of the things I liked about it was the hard fairways, making me think I’m something on my drive lengths.😎
The ‘rough ride’ is about the cart paths and greens. Paths are rutted and in some places non-existent. The day I played they had the 90* rule in force so the cart path was expected.
Also the greens were rough and very slow, spots on most greens needing repair. Some of the tee boxes need work.
I will say that in spite of the rough ride I had a good time. Best advice… keep it in the fairways or take a lot of bullets.
Don’t waste your time
Course is in horrible shape. Tee boxes mostly dirt. Greens unplayable. Cart paths in desperate need of repair.
We appreciate the review. You rated us 3-stars which means there is room to improve on your recent experience at Collins Hill Golf Club. Let us know, in the comments, how and where you would like to see changes from the course. Thanks for the feedback!
Overpriced
This could be a nice course if the owners would put in a little effort. The greens are in terrible shape-full of dead spots due to fungus and lack of care. The tee boxes also need attention. Sand traps have large chunks of gravel in them. Not worth the fees they are charging.
Greeeeens
I understand they are dealing with a disease but why not notify anyone!
Most of the time I was having to hit off dirt on the T box
Same as five years ago
Not sure what’s going on over there. I believe money is being skimmed away from the course. With sll ehe development around the community you would think they would try to improve course conditions. Where is the money going? Staff wearing a mask. Totally unfriendly. Asked about cash. Money going into pockets not the course. It could be a good course and will hate to see another one go away.
Atrocious and inexcusable
I used to play here all the time in high school. I returned for my first round since then yesterday and it’s as if no maintenance has been whatsoever in the last 8+ years. I can’t stress enough how putrid the condition of the course is. The greens have giant craters scattered all over them, putting is playing plinko. There is no difference between the fairways and the roughs, as both have tall grass that will hide your ball. Good luck finding a patch of decent grass to tee off from on the tee boxes. Even the cart paths are awful and honestly dangerous. The only good thing about this course is you won’t need a brush to clean your clubs, because it’s impossible to take a divot out of the concrete fairways. Seriously… don’t waste a dollar here. There are so many better ways to spend your day and your hard earned money.
I was hoping to see improvements
My Dad and I got to play golf for the first time together in over 3+ years. We agreed on Collins Hill for location as it is in between me in Winder and he in Suwanee.
I booked on GN app and the guy in the Pro Shop did not see my reservation under my name, but did find it under guest. Slight problem solved and we were told we could go a little early. Starter and all staff were very friendly.
We began play and I remembered why I had not made an effort to play this course again over the past 2+ yrs.
The tee boxes were ok for the most part, but I had trouble finding a flat area with nice turf on several of the tees. My Dad had trouble differentiating between SR/JR/LADIES tees. Red and orange markers were in odd places on several holes.
Most of the Bermuda around the greens had gone to seed since it had not been mowed in a while, which i was a little surprised since it was the day after a holiday(busy weekend).
I know the late winter cold snap was tough on greens, but the condition were seemingly unchanged since last time I played. From bare spots to very low sunken areas on some greens and virtually no sand in the bunkers made play more about just having a good time with my Dad as we rolled the ball often to improve our lie.
Ultimately, I am glad I did not pay more than $40 for each of us. Until I am told of improvements, I probably will look for other course to play in that price range. Also, the cart paths are TERRIBLE over most of the course. But then again I don't feel guilty about driving the carts in the fairways either on this course due to fair/poor conditions.
Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. Please know the current conditions are by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We will continue to work towards a 5-star experience and we hope to see you back!
Atrocious. Putrid. An embarrassment.
I used to play this course all the time when I was in high school. I just returned for my first round of golf here since I graduated, and it’s as if no maintenance has been done in over 8 years. There are craters all over the greens. There is no difference between the fairways and roughs. As a matter of fact, the roughs may even be better because of how rock hard the fairways are. The only good thing about this course is you won’t need a brush to clean your clubs, because it’s impossible to take a divot from the concrete fairways. Cart paths are dangerous. Such a shame to see the nose dive this place has taken since I played here all the time in high school. Won’t ever come back. Don’t spend a dollar of your hard earned money here; I promise you there are so many better ways to spend your day.
