About
Collins Hills Golf Club is a little known course to outsiders, but it is a local favorite. The traditional parkland layout tumbles across a rolling terrain. The golf course features small, undulating greens and narrows fairways bordered by towering trees. The layout demands accuracy especially with the numerous sand bunkers that have been incorporated into the design. Several ponds and lakes are scattered across the course, coming into play on seven holes. The layout has its challenges but it is still gentle enough to accommodate a variety of different skill levels. Before playing, golfers can warm up on the driving range or utilize the other practice facilities. Collins Hills Golf Club's atmosphere definitely plays a role in the club's popularity, offering all of the amenities of a private club with a casual and friendly setting

Pace of Play
The course was in good shape, this was our second time playing where we requested assistance while playing. The first time we had a cart that the brakes did not work consistently and we called on the first hole, no one ever came to switch our cart. The second time the pace of play was slow, we took 5 plus hours to play and called on the 4th hole and no ranger came to help with the play, we were told to ask to play through. Not knowing the people in front of us, we did not want to take the chance of an altercation.

Very challenging
Played on a weekday, no pressure time wise but played in 4.5 hrs. Many elevation changes and dogleg fairways, a good challenge if you can shape your shot. VERY dry and long rolls possible, but many creeks to receive your surprise distance!

Nice course, traffic jam pace
The course itself was very nice. Short, but challenging with narrow fairways and lots of hills. Unfortunately it was an absolutely beautiful day and I got stuck behind an elderly pair who couldn’t be bothered to stop looking for their balls in the woods instead of keeping up pace of play, and then a group of young (teen) men raced up behind us, so we were stuck between a snail and a rabbit for a while

Has potential, dirt bunkers
Bunkers were terrible, greens were okay, just didn’t feel like anything about this course was “good” probably won’t come back.

It Was Somewhat Rough
Kind of a rough course. Cart paths in terrible condition in places. Greens a little patchy.

Not worth it. At all.
Almost nonexistent staff, conditions absolutely awful from the Tee box, to the fairways, cart path, and greens. Not worth the money

Newly sanded greens were good. Some tee boxes need to be re-sodded and a few cart paths need to be the-surfaced.
I like the course layout and will play here again.

Tired course
The course looks like it needs a lot of work to improve the tees & cart paths in particular. I play a lot of golf at different places & this course is like a lot of others at present - lacking $$ to fix obvious problems. The layout is good but the cart paths are dangerous in places with large deep potholes with no warnings. The greens on the front 9 looked like they had been recently renovated as they were quite long & slow but there was no course warning about this. The back 9 greens were very good.
My biggest concern was the state of the golf carts. I had read in advance from other reviews that the brakes on the carts were not so good & I can attest that to be fact. On a course set on the terrain that it is that is simply dangerous. I saw several other golfers chasing their carts down the hill as the parking brake failed & I had to do the same too. After that early mishap I parked the cart across the slope at all times.
Pace of play was great & if the course was to improve I'd come back again to play in the future.

This MUNI course was great!
I recently had the opportunity to play at Collins Hill Golf Course, and I must say, it was a great experience. As a MUNI golf course, I didn't have high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fairways.
The overall layout of the course was enjoyable, with a good mix of challenging holes and more forgiving ones. The course was well-marked, making it easy to navigate and find the next hole. Additionally, the staff was friendly and accommodating, adding to the positive experience.
Overall, I highly recommend Collins Hill Golf Course. The well-maintained fairways and decent greens make for an enjoyable round of golf. Great pro shop. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced golfer, Collins Hill GC is definitely worth a visit.

Would not spend my money here again
There were a few strange things about the course. First, you could not bring your cart in the parking lot to get or drop off your clubs. Second, the course has a "no cooler" rule. Third, with having the "no cooler" rule there was also no cooler on the golf cart. Forth, with a "no cooler" rule we only saw the beverage cart once the whole round. Also, the driving range was in shambles and you could only hit your irons. The cart path around the whole course was terrible and even non-existent in a lot of places. Most tee boxes and greens were in terrible condition! I definitely will not be playing at this course again.
Better Conditions
The course is getting better and better each time I play. They have repaired a lot of their greens and and they are looking good. If you shoot well on this course you can shoot well anywhere.
