Collins Hill Golf Club

About
Collins Hills Golf Club is a little known course to outsiders, but it is a local favorite. The traditional parkland layout tumbles across a rolling terrain. The golf course features small, undulating greens and narrows fairways bordered by towering trees. The layout demands accuracy especially with the numerous sand bunkers that have been incorporated into the design. Several ponds and lakes are scattered across the course, coming into play on seven holes. The layout has its challenges but it is still gentle enough to accommodate a variety of different skill levels. Before playing, golfers can warm up on the driving range or utilize the other practice facilities. Collins Hills Golf Club's atmosphere definitely plays a role in the club's popularity, offering all of the amenities of a private club with a casual and friendly setting

Hole #11. If you do not have a good drive, you may have to lay up in front of the pond. Photo submitted by Sean4356667 on 03/04/2013
Not worth full price
Course has a decent layout but that is the only thing going for it. You should not be paying $60 for a course with carts with no brakes and beat down greens. Most of the staff is friendly but unfortunately there a few unfriendly ones that makes me regret giving my money away to them. I only recommend if you live around the area and don’t want to drive far. Even then, I would probably only go when they offer at reduced rates. They are taking advantage of the post-Covid golf popularity with their prices and failing to invest in the course.
Lots of challenges
The course was in fairly decent shape. There were areas where the grass was a bit too high, making finding the ball difficult. The cost per round was steep, even with a discount.
Their carts are death traps
Spotty greens, happens and I can deal with it. Slow group in front of you? Welcome to most golf courses. But…Golf carts with brakes that don’t work reliably on a course with very hilly terrain?? Now that’s a lawsuit waiting to happen. Just a matter of time…
Very Slow pace of play
I have played here several times but was first time playing Saturday afternoon 1330 tee. Very nice course conditions. Pace of play was very slow. I had to skip holes 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13, still took over 4 hrs to complete. I only saw marshall on 17th hole.
Very Slow Pace
There was a major bottleneck with a VERY slow foursome and the range did Nothing throughout the round.
The guy that works the front desk in the pro shop on Friday morning’s is awful. Rudest, worse customer service I’ve ever seen at a golf course.
Getting better but still not that good.
It's the course closest to my house so I usually play there once a year to see if there's any improvement. This year the greens were in much better shape than in the past. That's the good part. We had to let 4 singles play thru at various times, don't know if there was any attempt by the staff to group some of these people, could be varying factors involved here but I've never seen that many singles on a course on a Saturday. Both carts were sketchy and we had to park with the wheels turned because neither of the hill breaks worked. Also due to recent heavy rains, it was cart path only and that made it even worse because in the places that they actually have carts paths, they're broken, bumpy and rattled our clubs and teeth. The course was in better shape than I've seen it in recent years but it still has a long way to go. It is a fun course, but nowhere near being close to the $68 green fees we paid. I understand it takes a lot of money to maintain a course and they need as much as they can get out of the green fees but it's just not worth the price.
Old cart
The cart I drived had broken park pedal. I couldn't stop my cart with the break. While one persone was hitting a shot, the other partner kept pressing the pedal to stop the cart in turn. Please upgrade the cart.
Worst Golf Course in my life
I love to talk good about things but can’t lie. Tees and greens are awful. I really deserve my money back. Very poor conditions. Today was car path only but the path are so bad that o really think I need a chiropractor. Also the carts are very old and slow. What can I said: I really don’t want to come this place again.
Nice course
Fairways and greens were a little hard on the front nine, I assume due to lack of rain. otherwise , excellent.
