My wife and I are just beginners. Had a great time. Course challenged us and was in far better shape than where we are used to playing. Staff was very friendly.

residents became course owners and they have been trying hard to bring the course back from the rather poor shape it was in. but, it still needs a LOT of work. most of the greens are in really bad shape and do not roll consistently and very very slow. this course (20-25 years ago} had some of the best greens in the entire area. no more, they are now bad and are worse than the last time we played. cart paths are better but still many areas are dangerously bumpy. most of the fairways were good but some need weed abatement and sandy spots filled. the personnel are all nice which helps the overall experience.

I have played every public course around and this course had the best greens out of them all. I know the private courses are a lot more maintained but this was top notch for a hot deal on Golf Now

Layout is great and I like the course. I play it when I’m Savannah area a few times a year. Unfortunately the greens are all in very rough shape. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate them a 3 to 5. Some greens we’re just unplayable I hope they can get them back because the course layout is great. The staff was very friendly.

Overall the course was not that nice. The greens were just in poor condition. Although, the fairways were decent and the course layout was pretty nice. I would not play the course again unless it was for really good deal/cheap.

I play this course often and appreciate the layout and the staff. However, today the greens were unsuitable and in need of immediate attention.. There was not a true putt to be had. Many much needed improvements have been made at Southbridge which were all directionally correct. I applaud their efforts. But the condition of the greens is paramount to any golfer and the condition of the greens over shadows all the good work at the course and needs to be fixed sooner than later.

This course was on the brink of shutting down not long ago. The local residents pooled their resources to fund some much needed repairs (traps and drainage) so the course operates as semi-public. The neighborhood locals are treated as “members” and unless you’re one of them, you may be subject to having your tee time bumped. This happened to me last time I tried to play. Moreover, be sure to check the calendar for scrambles… they won’t tell you one is happening until after they’ve taken your money. Spend the lil extra time/money for Crosswinds or Westin. Sounds like the greens are all burnt up too…

Other than a very drunk and rude threescore behind us on the last few holes, we had fun. Felt like going back to them and shoving their drivers up their behinds. Very poor behavior from upper 50 to mid 60 year old golfers who aren't nearly as good or important as they might think they are.

For the money spent, it’s hard to complain. Some of the greens are in rough shape, but the fairways were all in nice condition. If you are a beginner golfer, this is the perfect course. If you are an experienced golfer, I would spend the extra money and go to Savannah Harbor.
