Southbridge Savannah Golf Club

Layout is great and I like the course. I play it when I’m Savannah area a few times a year. Unfortunately the greens are all in very rough shape. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate them a 3 to 5. Some greens we’re just unplayable I hope they can get them back because the course layout is great. The staff was very friendly.

Overall the course was not that nice. The greens were just in poor condition. Although, the fairways were decent and the course layout was pretty nice. I would not play the course again unless it was for really good deal/cheap.

I play this course often and appreciate the layout and the staff. However, today the greens were unsuitable and in need of immediate attention.. There was not a true putt to be had. Many much needed improvements have been made at Southbridge which were all directionally correct. I applaud their efforts. But the condition of the greens is paramount to any golfer and the condition of the greens over shadows all the good work at the course and needs to be fixed sooner than later.

This course was on the brink of shutting down not long ago. The local residents pooled their resources to fund some much needed repairs (traps and drainage) so the course operates as semi-public. The neighborhood locals are treated as “members” and unless you’re one of them, you may be subject to having your tee time bumped. This happened to me last time I tried to play. Moreover, be sure to check the calendar for scrambles… they won’t tell you one is happening until after they’ve taken your money. Spend the lil extra time/money for Crosswinds or Westin. Sounds like the greens are all burnt up too…

Other than a very drunk and rude threescore behind us on the last few holes, we had fun. Felt like going back to them and shoving their drivers up their behinds. Very poor behavior from upper 50 to mid 60 year old golfers who aren't nearly as good or important as they might think they are.

For the money spent, it’s hard to complain. Some of the greens are in rough shape, but the fairways were all in nice condition. If you are a beginner golfer, this is the perfect course. If you are an experienced golfer, I would spend the extra money and go to Savannah Harbor.

Been playing southbridge a good bit this year and last. Saw some serious improvements on the greens. It had been a little more than a month since I played out there and boy, the greens were like playing klinko. Craters, bumps, dead grass, all have shown up within 5 weeks. How does a golf course let that happen during the peak months of summer. Fairways and tee boxes were in good condition.

Course was nice. Been here few times already. But geez the workers where just messing around the greens and wouldn’t get off for me to tee off. Just rude. But other than that was good. Will come back

We played the course on May 6th and it was in great shape with the exception of the greens. However that was due to all the rain causing the polana to spread it had nothing to do with maintenance. We enjoyed the course and would play it again and also would recommend it to anyone. Cost to play was a very reasonable making for a fun experience.

The green are very very bump and your ball will not stay on line

Haven’t played here in a while. Sand traps were the best I’ve played anywhere. Fairways were ok and maintained. Greens and tees were bad. Greens were bumpy and grass has not grown in fully and inconsistent from putt to putt. Tees need grass in a lot of areas. Cart paths are rough in some spots but look like they are working on repairing them. A lot of ground under repair but not marked anywhere. And the worst part was there as no notification of any of this prior to the round.

Overall the course was in pretty good shape. Greens need some work, but they rolled fast and true. Very well marked, not a course you can walk though. Most holes have wide fairways with room to get out of trouble. Be sure to get a yardage book in the Pro Shop before you start your round. I will definitely play this one again.
