Decent Course, Horrible Staff

My friends and I drove 6 hrs to visit our friend who moved to Savannah. I assumed we couldn’t play a five-some but it never hurts to ask, right? The guy in the pro-shop could have just said “no, sorry” but instead he was unnecessarily rude and condescending. I had two other friends go into the pro-shop to buy balls and two separate occasions that day and he was harassing them saying “I better not find out you guys are playing five or we’re going to have problems/I’ll personally come out there and separate you.” I simple, polite “no” that morning would have sufficed but instead we got one of the most miserable experiences we’ve ever had at a golf course. I am very surprised that a place like this would let their employees treat customers like this. It’s a nice course except the fact that 90% of the cart path is in need of replacement. I would not recommend going here.

5 hours 30 minutes

Decent course . Good food. The pro shop does not care about pace of play . Took 5 hours and 30 min to play. Groups behind us left mid round because it was so bad. The pro claimed they had rangers , but we didn’t see a single one. The pro did not care about this at all.

Golf rain check

We played 9 holes, which was fine. At the 9th hole it started raining. I asked for a rain check but the clubhouse could not issue a rain check. I’m trying to contact GolfNow.

Please notify me somehow.

good course

1st time here and even tho the greens were thin, it was a good place to play.

it is winter so the thin greens were understandable.

the layout was good. hills and valleys thru out. not like the development courses in jax,fl

will play here again next time in savannah.

look forward to summer when the course is in full bloom

Still improving

I played after several days of rain and it was cart path only. No problem except it was so wet they probably should have closed the course. It even drizzled most of the round. The course is improving in almost every area. If they can get the grass to come in earlier than usual, this course will be a popular place to play!

Nice course, very very slow

The course is much better than it used to be with nice improvements now that residents own it. However, many resident-owners truly have a “this is my course and I will do what I want” attitude. Several slow groups would not let people play through, which resulted in a ridiculously slow round.

Too sad.

So sad that a golf course I loved and played for years before I left Savannah and would return to for years after has fallen to such a state of disrepair that if not for the Rees Jones design I would only describe it as a goat track.

I recommended it highly in the past and can only hope that I can in the future.

I played it regularly from its opening until 2003 when I left town. And I always return to play when I’m back in town.

But unfortunately it’s always with a tear in my eye when I see what it’s become.

Here’s to the members that saved it from development.

I always wish for better things for you in the future.

Foursome let me play through.

Got behind a foursome that played slow. They did let me play through after several holes after I asked them if that was ok. Will definitely play here again.
