Southbridge Savannah Golf Club

It was early March so I need to keep that in mind but the greens were in bad shape. Weeds on the greens made putting almost impossible. The rest of the course was ok.

Hadn't played Southbridge since early May 2020. Since that time, they've fixed some traps and reversed the order of the front and back 9s. They are still struggling with the greens, however. a different species of grass is present on most greens, creating tufts of grass on an otherwise mostly-smooth putting surface. I was told nearly a year ago that this problem was going to be addressed, maybe not quite there yet. It's a nice layout and a good mix of difficulty. despite the greens, can't beat the price if you get a deal. Would consider going back.

You wouldn’t expect a 4:30 hour round midweek in February but it happened. A single was stuck between my twosome, a twosome in front of me and a foursome ahead. This gentleman would tee up 2-3 times and then drop on the fairway. Then he would wait until to green cleared, 200 yds away when he hadn’t hit one shot over 150 yds all day long. After a brief, polite suggestion from me that he speed up or join the twosome behind him, he kept slowing the entire side down all day. A starter or roving marshal would have been the answer.

Otherwise the course was nice although wet from recent rains. Ownership has this course pointed in the right direction. Worth playing for yourself.

I'll address the negative first and leave with a positive. Pace of play was horrible. It was a Wednesday at the end of February but the course was full. It had rained almost every day for two weeks so everybody was trying to play.

If you're a single and stuck between groups, join someone!!!!!! There was a foursome, a single, two twosomes and a foursome and our round was over 4.5 hrs. The single, who I heard was hitting 3 tee balls per hole, would wait until the green cleared on all par 4's and 5's even though he was barely 100 yards off the tee. Please recognize your ability and think of others.

The course is improving every time I play there. Nice sand in traps and trees being cut for more sun on tees and greens!

Good job with the new owners. Will dry out eventually!

My friends and I drove 6 hrs to visit our friend who moved to Savannah. I assumed we couldn’t play a five-some but it never hurts to ask, right? The guy in the pro-shop could have just said “no, sorry” but instead he was unnecessarily rude and condescending. I had two other friends go into the pro-shop to buy balls and two separate occasions that day and he was harassing them saying “I better not find out you guys are playing five or we’re going to have problems/I’ll personally come out there and separate you.” I simple, polite “no” that morning would have sufficed but instead we got one of the most miserable experiences we’ve ever had at a golf course. I am very surprised that a place like this would let their employees treat customers like this. It’s a nice course except the fact that 90% of the cart path is in need of replacement. I would not recommend going here.

Decent course . Good food. The pro shop does not care about pace of play . Took 5 hours and 30 min to play. Groups behind us left mid round because it was so bad. The pro claimed they had rangers , but we didn’t see a single one. The pro did not care about this at all.

The course has a great layout. Reese Jones greens are challenging

We played 9 holes, which was fine. At the 9th hole it started raining. I asked for a rain check but the clubhouse could not issue a rain check. I’m trying to contact GolfNow.

1st time here and even tho the greens were thin, it was a good place to play.

it is winter so the thin greens were understandable.

the layout was good. hills and valleys thru out. not like the development courses in jax,fl

will play here again next time in savannah.

look forward to summer when the course is in full bloom

This course provides a challenge and is always nice to play at.
