Best course lay out in Savannah, no two holes alike.

Played here about 6 weeks ago and the greens were in really poor condition. Poa Ana was taking over, many bare spaces on greens and dry as a rock. I could not believe the difference this time. Green have been aerated and sanded and watered in. Poa Ana is gone and grass is growing like crazy.. fairways were cut and in great shape. also, they have ice cold beer in the clubhouse.

I’ll be back soon.

Southbridge golf club

The overall course condition was good except the greens were sparse and very slow. The golf cart pans were in poor condition and a few areas were dangerous at times.

Great Course, much improved conditions!

I had the pleasure of playing this course about a week and a half ago and was blow away at how much better it looked than what I was expecting. Shot a great round, super fun coirse, very well maintained greens. Would highly recommend!!

What has changed since early July?

I was reading the terrible reviews from Jun and early Jul with the greens of particular interest as being in bad shape. It made me not want to play but got intrigued by the layout and seeing it was a Rees Jones layout.

I played the course and my observations:

1. 16 of 18 greens were in pretty good shape. #8 was spotty but looked good in most spots. Speed was a little slow but smooth.

2. The maintenance team was extremely busy working on the course…in a manner that looked they took pride in their work.

3. Tees were mainly in good shape…mowed and grass everywhere in most spots.

4. Fairways were even and smooth!

5. The rough was being cut so hard to gauge condition but high in places.

6. Looks like invasive grasses around the collars and some fairways….looks like recently treated?

Overall the facility is great, staff was friendly and variety of food choices!

I plan to play again and looks like the course has improved significantly since Jun …something good is happening here! Play it and you will not be disappointed!

Not a good course

The course was not worth the fee they were charging. The course is not maintained well at all. The greens were extremely furry/tall, the greens had a ton of bald and unmanicured spots, the fairways were not cut or treated for weeds. The some of the bunkers were dirt and weeds, if not the prior they were extremely hard (lack of sand). If you are visiting as I was and you want to play a quality course, this is not the course. There two other courses in the area I would recommend (Savanah Harbor and Crosswinds). Anything else you would be waist your money. And you cant go wrong with venturing over to Hilton Head with it being right up the road. Hope this helps.

- Guy at front desk came across very arrogant, very minimal eye contact, short answered everything, look annoyed to be there, wasn’t clear or friendly.

- waited at the 7th tee box for 5 minutes for the maintenance crew to finish cutting the tee boxes at almost 10am. The guy blowing the grass lowered his fan while driving past us momentarily, then prematurely turned it back on and drenched my playing partner and I with grass blades. Took minutes to brush bags, cart, items and clothes off.

- above all, the greens are completely unplayable. I would rather the greens be double aerated than play those greens. Course layout was great, get up to the green and you’re unfortunately having to play automatic 2 putt rules. Quarter of the green isn’t even grass and the rest is patchy with rolling over flattened dirt and bumps. Similarly tee boxes aren’t any better.

Would never play again for 60$. Maybe for half that, maybe.

needed mowing, but it’s been brutal hot, so probably they are waiting for rain and cooler temperatures.

Great course

The greens were punched weeks earlier and were less than optimal. Loved the layout and service was exceptional. Will definitely go again and hopefully enjoy better greens

Great set up/ difficulty but poor conditions

The greens and tee boxes were absolutely poor! The staff were stuck up and rude except the cart girl. She was very nice. But the greens were so bad that some of them, were maybe 50% grass and 50% dirt. Some of the tee boxes didn't have grass.

Overpriced

Way too expensive for the quality. Greens are burnt out - they’ve gone downhill considerably since a few years ago. The fairways looked like they were mown by someone who had been drinking - strips of un-mown grass. Looks like they’re about to replace some of their cart path bridges, which is good because they’re about to fall into the creeks.

It’s probably worth about $30-35 at this point, but even their hot deals are more than that.
