About
Stone Mountain Golf Club boasts 36 holes of championship golf that are a part of Stone Mountain Park, which is one of the Southeast's most popular attractions. The Lakemont Course winds around the beautiful Stone Mountain Lake through forests of Georgia pines and hardwoods. John LaFoy, a native of the state, designed the golf course. He incorporated his signature mounding and dramatic bunkering, which is enhanced even further by the wildly undulating terrain. The lake is more prominent on the front nine where water comes into play on six holes. The back nine still features water on four holes, but there are more rocky outcroppings, providing different but equally stunning scenery. Stunning mountain views can be enjoyed from every hole and golfers will also be able to glimpse the famous Confederate memorial carving featuring Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, and Stonewall Jackson.

Get Ready for Slow Play
I like this course and the people who work here are really nice. But between all the newbies who started playing golf last year and the 5-somes that I see out on the course, the pace of play at Stone Mountain has really slowed during the past year. They have starters on the course but no rangers so there's no one to tell the laggards to speed up. They really do need to start using rangers out there.
Not worth $70 for a round
For $70, Lakemont is not a strong value. They didn’t have a beverage cart on the course & the course was just okay. Stonemont is a much better.
Nice Day
Fabulous layout and beautiful atmosphere. Nice round my son shot a 76. We had a lot of fun. Just enjoyable.
Scenic but inconsistent
Absolutely beautiful course while playing the lakemont. Overall a very playable course however I found it strange that some greens were bent grass where others were Bermuda. This makes it pretty hard to be consistent with reading puts. Will definitely play the course again!
Unique Layout with beautiful views
Lakemont is a very unique layout with the first series of holes along and over the water. Challenging but not requiring a very high level of skill. Yardage book or review of holes on website in advance is very helpful. Some of the holes are not clear when on course regarding direction, carry, and layout. Not really blind shots, just need a little course knowledge to play some of the holes well and as intended. Conditions were good, some areas of fairways need some repair. Greens in good condition, but soft the day we played. Unfortunately many unrepaired ball marks from discourteous players ahead of us. I recommend this course for a unique round of golf.
slow play
Marshall needed to get involved with several groups today. very casual, I mean slow players.
Pricey
The greens were so bad we had to make it a 2 putt max. Probably should have used my wedge to chip instead of putting. The course layout and scenery was amazing. Good people working there also.
Perfect round
Fun course to play!
Great conditions. The refreshment cart was on the front and back 9. A pleasant escape from the overcrowded city courses.
Starter, Montana was friendly and knowledgeable.
I Will return soon to play Stonemont
Stonemountain Baby
First time playing the course. Paired with another single from Chicago. We enjoyed everything about the course and the views. The staff is wonderful and very friendly. Definitely, l will play the course again. Bravo.
