Stone Mountain Golf Club sits at the base of one of the Southeast's most popular attractions, Stone Mountain. The club offers two 18-hole courses, Lakemont and Stonemont. The Stonemont Course is the club's original layout, designed by Robert Trent Jones. The gentle hills surrounding the mountain provide the golf course with rolling fairways and greens. The contours are subtle, but they can be deceiving. The classic but tricky layout requires careful strategy and course management in addition to accuracy. The course is routed around the mountain and its accompanying lake, weaving through dense forests of Georgia pine. The layout features narrow fairways, but one of the most challenging features are the numerous bunkers strategically placed throughout. Since opening in 1969, Stone Mountain's Stonemont Course has hosted numerous events, both local and national.

Overall great experience.

Greens were a bit ruff! No pun. That’s a necessary expectation this time of the year. I’ve never really had a bad experience at this course. Very friendly and accommodating.

Overall great experience.

You’ll find the course in great shape. Always enjoy Stonemont. Staff is extremely friendly. They are proud of the concessions. Guest you’d call it convenience fee. . My daughter and I had a great time.

Fast greens that held shots

Course was softer than previous, so not quite as much roll on tee shots and approach shots. Greens remain very fast, especially on downhill putts.

Very Nice Golf Course

Excellent throughout, but the park entrance fee for parking of $20 is ridiculous. For golfer, like Lake Lanier, they should make an arrangement where the golfers should not have to pay the $20 entrance fee.

Greens remain fast

Excellent conditions for this time of the year. Biggest challenge was calculating the speed on every green, especially on downhill putts.

Tees and greens in horrible condition

The didn’t tell us the greens were aerated and full of sand. Then, the red tees were stuck out in the fairway facing uphill. There were no yardage markers except 150. We won’t go again.

A tough layout that requires your attention on each shot Greens are spongy and have a lot of bad spots with no grass on some greens.

Fairways and rough are in solid shape, but the greens are unpredictable. Cart guy at the end of the round was a jerk and had a smart mouth. Staff in the dining area are awesome!

Nice Course

First time playing. The course was in good condition; some of the greens needed some work. Yet the heat has been pretty brutal. I look forward to playing again.
