Good not great
Waiting on every single hole … super slow go of 5+ hours. Cart was a mini-turtle with the heart of a sloth. But good vibe and staff.

It's close
Greens are pretty solid but far too many weeds and uncut areas everywhere else. It was a fun round, and the layout is one of my favorites, but the course needs some TLC to get it to its potential

Slimmer
Having played the course a number of times over the years I was very disappointed in the Condition. The bunkers are deplorable - no sand in them & grass growing in the bunker & fairways not cut w/different kinds of grass growing on them. The course looks like a course that is experiencing financial difficulty & in a survival vs a growth mode
Smoke Rise
I played at 11:20 am . Course seem like he had not been mowed since last week. There was a mower like it was damage on hole 4 off to the side . . Grass was extremely high . Fairways needed to be cut . Ball was not rolling. Very disappointed the facility was charging $46 this set up . Finishing hole 18 . Saw a gentleman on mower. Around 2p about to cut course I guess. You never know what the conditions will be at Smoke Rise if you decide to play there

Course was average to above average. Good value. Cart paths are in very rough shape. Overall, i would come back to play

Wouldn’t waste your time
Nice club house and Joe was super nice but the course was awful and was not worth $41. If you play turn off the GPS before you have to reversed out of the cart path…

Great potential
Played on a Friday and course was booked full but pace was better than expected. Sand traps were not playable and some of the pin placement were crazy. Greens looked odd but were not bumpy and held well. Expect they will get better as summer approaches. There are 5 par three and 5 par 5’s. All were great layouts and challenging. I liked that…This is a tough course to play the first time and that’s why we’re going back next week. If conditions were a little better this course would be outstanding. Staff was polite and friendly. I’d recommend especially to lower handicap players.

Rude staffer in clubhouse won't see me ever again
Was going to be my first time playing this course so was excited. Was the first in a group of 3 to arrive, my buddy booked it for us earlier in the week for a 12:24p tee time. List the time because that's a very specific detail in this horrible experience at Smoke Rise. I arrived at 11:20a to check in and hit the range but the young man working did not see our reservation. He said the 12:24p reservation was under a different name than I had given and was booked on Golf Now. I called my buddy who made the reservation to confirm with him that it was 12:24p that he booked and it was. He said he tried booking on the Smoke Rise website but it wasn't working so he called and spoke to a lady who made the reservation and confirmed checking him in.
While I was on the phone, the young man noticed our reservation was reserved for 2:24p (weird but easily could have been a typo). It was at that moment, a women at the front desk, who had been on the phone herself, chimed in and said very rudely, that 12:24p reservation was made a week ago, we've been booked for a week and we don't have any wiggle room. I walked out and decided to let my buddy talk with them since he was the one who made the reservation.
My buddy arrived and the experience with the woman was just as bad. Instead of admitting a mistake was made and working with the 3 of us who arrived at the time we were given, she gave us the option of either waiting until 2:24p to play or squeezing in between groups at 12:24p but paying an extra $20 each to do so. Needless to say, the 3 of us left and likely won't be back.
Sucks for me since i drove an hour from West Cobb to play this course. oh well

Becoming my favorite course.
Great layout. Excellent fast greens. Sand traps need lots of work. William the starter fantastic! Staff always friendly. Only downside are cartpaths....dangerous in a few places. Appears they are preparing for renovation. Great value. Will be back next week!
