A good day for golf
I had a 10:40 tee time. Got out about 10:10. Played 5 holes and caught a 2 some. They let me play through after 3 or 4 holes. Caught another 2 some. They let me play through after 3 or 4 holes. Finished my round at about 12:45. Greens were excellent. Fairway grass was in good shape but some of the fairways had a lot of leaves making it difficult to spot the ball..
Lost Balls
Nice course, but if you miss the fairway, you just lost a ball. You have no chance to hit back into place. It's lost. I stopped playing after nine holes. One other thing. The only flat place you'll find is the pro shop. The ball will almost always be above four feet, below your feet, and you'll either be hitting up or down. I would recommend the course to excellent players, but if you're average at best, and maybe even just good, come with a lot of balls or go somewhere else that is challenging, but fairer for amateur golfers.

Excellent Service
My favorite layout in Atlanta. Its in decent shape for this time of year. Got behind some bums but was able to pass at the turn. Service was outstanding. The front desk, ranger, and especially the cart girl Kowalski had excellent attitudes and were very hospitable. Really love playing here.

Not what it use to be
There was a time when this course was one of the top courses east of Atlanta. I recently played and was very disappointed in what has happened here. I understand golf courses go thru membership issues, financial issues, owner issues, management issues but it is very disappointing to see what has happened here. I just hope one day it returns to close to what it once was. After reading reviews I will have to wait to make another trip to Smoke Rise. A good layout, challenging, and very well maintained is what I remember and hope when I come back it has improved over the poor condition it is now.

Excellent course
I really like this layout. The greens this time weren’t quite in the best shape but still good. Fairways were in great shape as well.
Definitely will be playing this course again.

Always a Challenge
As an occasional intermediate golfer I like a challenge. This course is definitely a course that requires your skill and course management. It’s a lot of fun.
The staff is very nice. Mr. William is a great host.

this is worst golf course i ever played in my life. better play in your backyard and save money.

Terrible Course!!
The airways are absolutely terrible. No consistent grass pattern. They are rough with dry spots all around. Some of the fairways are so narrow. The Tee boxes are all rotten and very few grass. The Greens were probably the best. I would not paly at his course again. Actually, you will ruin your play. Pay a little more $ and play at other fine courses around!!

Thanks for your review, we apologize that the golf course layout and condition did not meet your expectations. The golf course does demand accuracy from the tee and we encourage guests to play from our forward tee boxes at a shorter yardage than they may normally play.
