Southland Golf & Country Club

I’m sure at one time this was a nice course, THIS IS NOT THAT TIME! The clubhouse is Under Construction. The driving range is make-shift, un-manicured, and only has enough distance for Irons. The course is in horrendous shape. Tee Boxes we’re not mowed, fairways blended with the rough, and the bunkers were un-raked weed gardens. We paid $84.00 for two players and quickly realized it wasn’t worth $25.00. The positives is that the scorecard was new, and the golf cart worked. I hope that this course can return to form one day but it will take A LOT of work.

Great course for your money. The greens are well kept. Only complain would be they’d didn’t pick up the grass clippings and that would slow the ball down.

Course and greens in good condition. Cart path in some areas need repair. However, seen this at other courses as well. For the price, Southland offers very good value. Friendly staff. very interesting and enjoyable course layout. Enjoy playing the course.

Had a great experience as usual. Course greens and fairway in excellent condition but some bunkers need improvement. Given current price, course offers great value. Staff were friendly as usual and helpful, suggesting we bring a cooler or take extra drinks from the clubhouse as drink cart and halfway house were temporarily not available. Clubhouse currently under renovation and told the upgrade will be completed in about a week. As we played the course several times, look forward to the improvements and revisiting. Weekend golf slow at first as typical for any course on a weekend, however course Marshall helped speed up the pace. Overall enjoyed the course and highly recommend the course.

Had a very good experience. Staff were very friendly, helpful and also suggested we either take a cooler or bring extra drinks from the clubhouse as at the moment the course does not have drinks or drink carts. The course provides great value and the greens and fairways are in excellent condition. The clubhouse is currently under renovation and look forward to revisiting when the improvements are completed apparently in a week or so. Typical for all courses on a weekend, play was a little slow at first, however the course Marshall helped speed up play.

Team members are disrespectful and pushy sadly this was a great cheep course to play on but I’d rather spend more money then deal with someone being disrespectful just because they are having a bad day. Good bye southland!

Top 2 worst courses I have ever played or seen, and it’s not number 2. Obvious that they don’t have a grounds crew. Might as well just go smack some balls around in a pasture. Save yourself $38 and a horrible time and avoid this abomination that they call a golf course!

I've played this course once before, and it's a completely different one than last time I was there a few years ago. For the most part, the course is in very bad shape, with the exception of the greens, which are very well maintained. The tee boxes, most fairways, and the bunkers are a disaster. There is no single bunker that is in acceptable condition. Honestly, if you fall in a bunker, better pick it up and place it outside, as they're full of tall weeds, trash, and pine needles, all of them. The cart paths are a disaster as well, as they're all damaged from roots (horrible for your kidneys). The pace of play was so bad, that we ended up leaving after 8 holes. It took us two and a half hours to play seven holes. There is no marshall, there is no beverage cart, there are not even water coolers available to cool off. And because personal coolers are not allowed, playing on a sunny 95* weather is not fun and almost impossible. The guy at the shop is very unfriendly and there are hardly any supplies for you to buy if you missed something at home. I can keep going, but there you have some of the facts of my experience. Definitely will not visit this course again. Good luck!

Great layout with plenty of opportunities to hit every type of shot. Greens are in good condition; however, greens at 16-18 are heavily saturated with water at the moment. Most bunkers are just dirt traps, but still playable. Good views of Stone Mountain and the water provides picturesque backdrop for the back nine. Be mindful the clubhouse is currently receiving renovations. Overall, excellent value.

Greens were overall very good. Rest of course poor to average. Take what you need with you as nothing as you go around the course no refreshment cart or even water stations. Would rather pay more and have a better experience.

The greens are fast and well taken care of. However the sand pits look like they haven’t been cared for in a long time. Everything being equal, I’d play again.
