About
Nestled in the foothills of the north Georgia mountains, Sugar Hill Golf Club tumbles across elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course is artfully laid across the rolling hills, weaving through stands of mature trees, to provide it with the maximum level of challenge and the best views. The natural contours played a role in determining the placement of the bunkers around the greens and fairways as well as shaping the sharp doglegs. As if the golf course didn't already have enough challenges, there are also deep grass canyons and water hazards to contend with. The par-4 fifth and the par-3 12th are memorable water holes, both featuring large lakes that lurk in front of the greens. Sugar Hill G.C. is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the area.

Poor
Not someone who writes reviews but this is Absolutely the worst place I’ve played in many years. Poorly maintained. Bunkers had barely any sand, mostly 3ft tall weeds, rocks, gravel, and clay. Sore on the eyes to look at. Course said the greens went under an aeration process in early June. I guess they don’t water the course because the greens were junk. Good layout. Def a good track if you know how to work the ball but absolutely embarrassing how poorly it’s taken care of. $60 for a course that’s maybe worth $30 on a Saturday. No water, no cart girl, no rakes, but that’s because the only think you can rake up is gravel and clay and monstrous weeds. Wish I had taken photos of this dump. Get new owners and save the track.

Majestic Scenery at Municipal Rates
This course could rank with mountain vista courses. Every bit as hilly as Innsburck in Helen, GA. Great layout, in great shape with high elevations to many greens. Could be the best value in the country.

Course in great shape
Course is in As good of shape as I have seen. Fun round today. Pace of play not good today, which is unusual. Derrick and Mike are always courteous and helpful. Rain is coming.

Rock bunkers
Bunkers haven’t been touched in over a year. But at least they remodeled the bathrooms…

Amateur Hour
Painfully slow play. Courses in the area have been overrun by individuals that lack even the faintest hint of etiquette. Greens are poor. No one repairs ball marks and they are artificially slow and spongy. Course has such potential but their clientele is ruining it.

Had fun
Course is ok. None of the sand traps are playable. No sand and full of rocks and weeds. Had to consider them as GUR. Fix the sand traps!!!!

Never playing here again
This course was in horrible shape from the tees to the greens. There was no sand in 90% of the bunkers and the other 10% had grass growing out of them. The pace of play was unacceptable. There were several twosomes and singles allowed to go out late morning on a Saturday. This was a terrible waste of $50 and I wouldn’t recommend you make that same mistake.

Nice challenging course
Course is a nice challenge. Bunkers need to be redone. You definitely need to focus on shot placement to stay out of trouble.
