Water!
Nice course to work on your game, they REALLY NEED TO GET SOME WATER POINTS. It summer and to have NO water points on the course is outrageous.
Good value for the money
Still consider myself a rookie new to the game. Feel like this course is good for beginners, good value for the money. Staff is very friendly.
Good value course
This course is great for beginners such as myself. Wide fairways help for the forgiving shank shots I inevitably hit every round! Greens could use some work, but for the cost of the course I can’t complain.
Good value for the money
Overall a very good experience. Could use improvement on sidelines and in the roughs, lost 2 balls just because the rough green hasn't been cut down in a while. Will be playing there again.
Country course
It’s a nice course out in the country. Not a neighborhood golf course. There is not really any sand traps or anything like that. It’s a pretty simple course. Has some easier shorter holes and some more difficult ones.
I always like this coarse due too I do not play enough, but my brother said he enjoyed the coarse also, he is a member up north in PA.
No change.
Played on Friday 7/5 since 6-7 years ago, to my surprise the course remained the same. Fairways still tight lie hard pan and majority of the greens were fluffier than ever. Nonetheless the layout of this course is good with some holes pretty tough. Didn’t lose but one ball but multiple scuffed up from the fairways. The staff here are extremely friendly plus you can get some good practice in.
Needs work
Course layout interesting. Most holes were fair, but some me real gimmick holes with only 20-30 yard fairways. Fairways were really rough. Greens looked good but needed cutting, because they were very slow. Still fair value.
Decent Practice Course
If you can’t find anyone to play with and don’t want to go the range. This course will do fine. It’s super cheap and was not crowded. The tee boxes and fairways are like a cow pasture but it’s manageable. The greens are the worst I’ve ever seen. Slow and bumpy does not describe it. It’s like putting in your yard but worse. It’s a good place to practice tee shots and iron shots but you might as well pick up when you get to the green.
Good experience for the value price
Pine Hills GC is a decent place to play for a value price. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. The course is laid out well for the average or beginner golfer. The course has shown great improvements in the fairways over the last several years. It is obvious that they are doing work on the greens as many of the holes are under improvement.
I do recommend playing there for some good practice rounds.
Augusta It Ain't ... in a good way too
Augusta it ain't, but it's not trying to be either. This is a solid public course that is laid back, accessible, and unpretentious. The woman who was running the counter is very hospitable and snacks are very reasonably priced.
As for the course, the fairways are generally wide open (esp on the front) and tend to play short, so it's a forgiving course. There are no bunkers that I recall. There are a few holes that can be a bit tricky if you miss long or to one side of the fairway/green. If you're going to play this course, allow yourself generous rolls onto greener/thicker spots of grass and off of harder dirt.
I'm new to the area, so I've been trying out several courses around here, but one reason I keep coming back here (besides the price) is that it's a lot more walkable ($17 onsite if you want to walk 18) than other local courses and the holes provide a lot of different looks and challenges without punishing too much. And it's not weaving through the middle of a neighborhood, which is too common around here. The biggest downside that I continue to experience is the slow greens. They're just long and unpredictable. There are also a few tee boxes that seem to have died, but you can just tee up on one side or the other or a little behind.
When I played, there was a burst pipe that some guys were working on and I gather that it was supposed to be watering some of the fairways on the back that were pretty dry. They seemed to have fixed it, so I hope those holes get watered. I think focusing on improving the greens would make this course a real hidden gem. Until then it's still worth the money for tune-up rounds, especially compared to what some of these other places are charging.
Course conditions going down hill
Fairways and rough the same height not mowed some greens like shag carpet some cut thin and burned out course is going down hill staff is very nice club house is the same good hot dogs just need to invest a little time and effort in the course
Just a country course
This course just is what it is. The fairways are in great shape. The greens are straight sand right now and the tee boxes are pretty bad in most places. There’s no drinking water anywhere on the course but the snack bar is cheap. I paid $16 after fees and tax so I can’t complain too much. If you’re looking for somewhere to just go play a quick game of golf it’s not a bad spot.
Great family local course - very friendly staff
As the title says - this is a great local family course. The staff is amazing and super friendly.
