A Gem
This is hallowed grounds for golf: they’ve been playing on the same parkland here since 1911. The current incarnation is nine holes, designed by Langford and Moreau, masters of the steam shovel, which was used to create the massive sand traps in evidence here. Beginners like it because they can spray their shots over the broad fairways, accomplished golfers like the challenge provided by distance (both par threes are over 200 yards) and strategically placed greenside traps. The greens are smooth. The meandering lagoons and planes flying overhead to Midway provide scenic interest. Like the other city layouts, this course is an oasis in the urban jungle. The staff is outstanding, customer focused and friendly. If you haven’t played Marquette, your golfing career is poorer for not having done so.
Great 9 Hole
Great 9 Hole course. Hole 7 needs work. The fair way is pretty rough around the small pond area they have. Other than that, its a great course!
Rude Staff and too congested
Staff is really rude and tried to charge you more even you paid online... They keep taking walk-ins and made everything too congested
Hidden Gem
Marquette Park Golf Course is one of Chicago’s best-kept secrets. Nestled within the historic Marquette Park, this course offers an incredibly scenic, welcoming, and well-maintained experience that rivals many high-level private clubs, without the pretension and for an incredible value. A massive shoutout to Don and Oscar, two of the most gracious and attentive staff members you’ll meet. The course itself is a beautiful surprise. It’s challenging without being punishing, with lush fairways, well-kept greens, and mature trees lining many of the holes. It’s walkable, friendly, and full of local charm. You can tell it’s a community staple, there’s a sense of history and pride here that you don’t always find at municipal courses. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful afternoon round, a great place to bring friends, or just an excuse to enjoy the outdoors on the South Side, Marquette Park Golf Course delivers. The Only problem is that it isn't 18 holes.

Hidden Gem
Impeccably maintained course! It’s quite long, but is not punishing at all. The lake feels like a backdrop and doesn’t impact your shots. After a wonderful round we talked to Don and Oscar at the clubhouse and they were wonderful! They called it a “Hidden Gem” and we couldn’t agree. A must-visit.
