Highland Woods Golf Course

5 1/2 hour round due to two foursomes of complete beginners holding up the pace. There was no ranger to speed things up …. we were finally able to jump them on full 13, skip two holes to finish in 5 1/2 hours. Ridiculous To occur on a Thursday afternoon. There were five or six holes open in front of this group.

Aerated greens, grass to high on tee boxes also sand traps held water. Sand traps should have been drained and mechanically raked. Course has a good layout but a little TLC goes along way in having a better experience as well as a better round of golf.

Always a nice Cook County Course. Greens in great shape. Staff super friendly and accommodating.

I used to be a starter at this course. It’s always played slow 4.5- 5.0 hrs a round. Today was no different

Very nice course pretty wide so it's easy to get it on the fairway.

The course is not monitored and therefore it is slooooow! Not just because it’s preseason because it’s always like that. I only went there because it was relatively cheap and it’s March.. They do have golf scooters though which is a lot of fun. I don't know if I will go back.

Not much to complain about when you are golfing in Chicago in the month of February. Cook County gets bashed for a lot of things but we have to give them props for this golf course being open for play in the winter. It was crowded as you would imagine but the pace was ok. We walked and we finished in 4.5 hours. Front 9 was 2 hours while the back took 2.5 hours. Still some nice ahead.....get out and play.

Played on a Sunday afternoon. A little bit windy but was awesome. Course was in great condition besides bunkers. Greens were in good shape. Ball rolled true.

I like highland woods it’s a fun layout I just hate how most people that come here can’t play ba round in under 4 hrs there were less than 25 people on the course for a 1230 tee time on superbowl Sunday . So why did I have to beg the play off the back to finish in 3 hrs. I was playing with my wife who plays quickly and caught a single I watched to see what was taking him so long I noticed he was playing three balls each shot . I asked him to stop or let up play through and he ignored me . So after a few holes of this nonsense I put my ball pin high from 175 on number 6 the long par five . He was fishing for balls in the water with three balls on the green.that got his attention and he picked up the pace. So many losers on this course I only pay it on winter or early spring to bad it’s a nice course
