For a forest preserve course it was in better than average condition. Greens were in very good shape. What I like is there is a good mix of easy and difficult holes and they layout is very attractive.

Great Layout, Good distance and pretty wide open, just very slow
I've played this course many times because it's a great value and close to my house, but the main issue is pace of play. There's always backed up holes and it can get so frustrating. All in all though, the course has some fun holes and almost 7000 from the tips.

Where’s the Ranger
Pace of play. Had to call it at 15 holes. Hit and wait is miserable golf. No ranger enforcing pace. Love the course besides that but can’t play a round in 5+ hours for $60 with a cart.

Most of the fairways are generous, and the holes are separated from each other. Almost no interaction with players on different holes.

Never disappoints
I always enjoy playing at Highland Woods. The fairways are pretty wide and forgiving for the most part, which also makes it good for beginners like my son. The course is in great condition, the prices are reasonable, and the staff are super friendly. Highly recommend.
