Schaumburg Golf Club - Tournament/Baer Course
About
Schaumburg Golf Club is a 27-hole course that is divided into three nines: the Tournament, Baer, and Players. The nines are played in three different 18-hole combinations that offer a variety of different challenges. The nines have unique designs but all the courses share an undulating terrain and well manicured tees, fairways, and greens. Due to the quality of the design and excellent conditions, the course has been host to numerous events over the years including the U.S. Open Qualifying and Illinois Open Qualifying tournaments. The Tournament/Baer combination features plenty of water on the front nine, while the back nine is more forgiving but still dotted with strategically placed bunkers. Schaumburg is a popular course not only because of the design but also because of the country club setting at public-course prices.

Great Park District Course
I played the Baer course (9 holes), and it was in great shape. The fairways rivaled those of much more expensive courses and the white-sand bunkers were immaculately maintained. The greens also were in good shape. This is much better than I would typically expect from a park district course. The main reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the course isn't well marked for yardage. My GPS app wasn't working, and I'm not familiar with this course, so I did a lot of guessing about distances. Some holes have small signs for 250 or 150 yards, others have them on the cart paths. Because I walked, I usually wasn't anywhere near the cart paths. They should put yardage stakes or discs at 250, 200, 150 and 100 yards that are easier to see.
great condition
course was in great shape; unfortunately this did not help my golf game :P
Northwest courses
Best course on the northwest side.
The course is kept in country club condition.
Fun to play

Check in was fine. Staff told me that there are 4 players, one walking and three riding. There would be a chance two people per cart. I said ok. 10 minutes before tee time the staff came and took a cart from another player and teamed up with me. Found out after the second hole the person teamed up with me smoked too much and drank too much alcohol and was complaining the whole round of golf about the person walking and taking too much time. We four golfed 4 hours and 10 minutes which is written in the golf rule book. The staff should of had a ranger on the course monitoring instead of sending out the beverage cart girls interrupting our golf at the tee box. I'm rating this course poorly for the manager not training the staff on golf edicate.
Great Track
Schaumburg Golf Club is definitely one of those courses in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago worth trying out. Great track, excellent conditions,, fast greens, friendly staff, excellent amenities.
Best Public Course in Chicago-Land
Great conditions, nice carts, great staff, I wish I lived closer so I could go more often
Great course - Bad greens
This is one of the best courses I have played and is always in phenomenal condition, with one exception. The greens are kept way too soft which results in tons of pitch marks (most people don't fix) and is easily susceptible to damage. Even a light weight person is leaving imprints from their shoes. If they would firm up the greens, this course would be a 10/10.
