Schaumburg Golf Club - Tournament/Baer Course
About
Schaumburg Golf Club is a 27-hole course that is divided into three nines: the Tournament, Baer, and Players. The nines are played in three different 18-hole combinations that offer a variety of different challenges. The nines have unique designs but all the courses share an undulating terrain and well manicured tees, fairways, and greens. Due to the quality of the design and excellent conditions, the course has been host to numerous events over the years including the U.S. Open Qualifying and Illinois Open Qualifying tournaments. The Tournament/Baer combination features plenty of water on the front nine, while the back nine is more forgiving but still dotted with strategically placed bunkers. Schaumburg is a popular course not only because of the design but also because of the country club setting at public-course prices.

Beautiful Fall Day! Schaumburg Golf Course Photo submitted by silver92z on 10/31/2012
Golfer Reviews
What a treat!
Possibly the last golf day of the year, I thought it would be packed. Got there at 8:30 for my 8:50 tee time. 3 other players on the range, nobody on the tee. Starter sent the twosome I was paired with ahead. I went off as a single about 8:45 and NEVER SAW ANOTHER PLAYER near me! It was such an enjoyable walk on a beautiful day. Played well, found a few lost balls...ok 65! Left most along the tee boxes, probably surprised whomever followed.
SGC never disappoints
The course id always in great shape, and they have a nice practice range & putting greens. Good layout but not punishing. The bar / restaurant area is nice & clean, and they have good food. This is a better venue than many of the private clubs I've played at in the area.
too cold to really enjoy the course. will definitely be back next year.
Great Course
I really enjoyed playing the Schaumburg Golf Course. I played on a Tuesday. So, the pace was good. It had rained consecutive days, but the course was in fairly good condition. They had aerated the tee boxes, but for the most part, they were well-kept. Greens were a bit faster than expected given all the rain, but overall, it is a great course and I would definitely play it again. The guy in the golf shop was very friendly and really took time to explain the layout of the course since it was my first time. So, if you haven't played Schaumburg Golf Course, I would highly recommend that you play it.
Great Price for Value
The course in good condition and the prices for the round was great!
first time
Outstanding course, conditions great. Rough needed some cutting and greens a little worn (mainly from use), but generally course was very playable and enjoyable. My wife (a newbie) played her best round to date, because course is very forgiving and playable.
The Best Value in Chicagaoland
Simply put, the Schaumburg Golf Club and it's three 9-hole courses that rotate between 18 and 9-hole setups is amazing for the prices they charge. You're only out about $25-30 to walk 9 with push cart on most days for being a non-Schaumburg resident. 18 holes with cart is about $50-60 which is quite reasonable considering how expensive many courses are in the Chicago area.
For example, nearby Mount Prospect Golf Club is nearly $70 on weekend with cart that will likely be a 5+ hour journey to go through 18 holes, circus style greens, and horrible conditions where balls bounce and spin much more than they should. For $50/60 you will get great conditions on the fairway, challenging setups from the bunkers to pin locations, and fast greens where everything feels fair at the end. It's not cheesy and cheap unlike other courses, and it won't overcharge you either.
This club is easily one of the best in all of the Chicago region.
Amazing
Great course, slightly short but beautifully kept.
