Schaumburg Golf Club - Tournament/Baer Course
About
Schaumburg Golf Club is a 27-hole course that is divided into three nines: the Tournament, Baer, and Players. The nines are played in three different 18-hole combinations that offer a variety of different challenges. The nines have unique designs but all the courses share an undulating terrain and well manicured tees, fairways, and greens. Due to the quality of the design and excellent conditions, the course has been host to numerous events over the years including the U.S. Open Qualifying and Illinois Open Qualifying tournaments. The Tournament/Baer combination features plenty of water on the front nine, while the back nine is more forgiving but still dotted with strategically placed bunkers. Schaumburg is a popular course not only because of the design but also because of the country club setting at public-course prices.

Golfer Reviews
So fun!
I don't know if it was the dry weather or the condition of the course, but my ball went flying and rolling farther than I've ever seen it do so. So, yes, I'm a happy camper. My only complaint is that the piece on the cart where the scorecard sits was broken and fell off. Thumbs up for the starter. Very pleasant!
Pretty great
I generally don't love "sardine can" courses where the holes are super tight/packed in. Schaumburg is one of these and this is my least favorite thing about it.
Aside from that, it was pretty great. The conditions/grounds are immaculate and the layout is pretty good and fun. The whole place is pretty fancy for a normal public joint and the course was fun. Would definitely recommend.
Course Starter
The starter tried to get us to share a cart. There were two people in our foursome walking and me and another guy each had our own cart. He told us they were short on carts. That is not my problem!! If SGC is short on carts then buy MORE CARTS!!!! The other guy was a Schaumburg resident and paid $5 more for his cart and that allowed us to each have our own cart! Very annoying to say the least!!!
A nice Monday afternoon at Schaumburg Golf Course
My wife and I played 9 holes on the Baer Course at a 3:35p tee time. The people in the golf shop were friendly, and there was a brief delay due to the lightning guard. We started play at about 4:00 with a third golfer who joined us. The course was in decent shape and is always fun to play. The greens were in good shape, although many have ball marks that haven’t been repaired. We stayed for dinner at Chandlers which has a solid menu and reasonable prices.
Love the pace of play
Course uses 10 minute tee times so pace is excellent. Wish all courses would do this to improve the golf experience.
Very Windy...then Rain on this day and the course was willing to give us rain-checks on unfinished round.
Quality course. Will be back.
Nicks Jist
I canvassed the Baer 9 hole on foot & it was a good way to get my steps in for the day. Maybe I should invest in one of those rolling golf bags?
