About
Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo is one of the top 10 golf courses in Illinois. The course was built on rolling farmland covered with native wild grasses. The layout eases you into the challenges with a links-style front nine that is less demanding than the back nine. The fairways are invitingly wide but if you miss them, you'll be faced with thick fescue. The back nine takes advantage of the surprisingly undulating terrain, which is unexpected since just across the river the land is almost totally flat. Annbriar's signature hole, the par-4 11th, was voted the best hole in the St. Louis area. From an elevated tee, golfers enjoy a stunning view as they play down into a valley. This hole is also the no. 1 handicap hole on Annbriar Golf Course.

Conditions are excellent as always
But
I’m not sure why they allow multiple 5somes to play on Sunday of a holiday weekend. You can say “ it’s ok as long as they keep moving”, but we waited on almost every tee on the front and total round over 4.5 hours in hot humid St. Louis weather is a slog.

Worst pace of play I’ve ever had. 5.5 hours. 10 minutes between shots. Greens/tees are great. Won’t be back

Off the beaten path gem!!
The course was very well taken care of. Had some slow play, but not so bad I wouldn’t play again. It would’ve been nice to have some water available on the course but let’s be honest if that’s the worst I got we’re in good shape. Loved it!!

GREAT Course but Slow play.
Course was in great shape and weather good. A little hot but nice breeze felt good.
Pace of play was slow as the course was packed. Not horribly slow though.
Golf pass made playing very affordable which i took advantage of!
