About
Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo is one of the top 10 golf courses in Illinois. The course was built on rolling farmland covered with native wild grasses. The layout eases you into the challenges with a links-style front nine that is less demanding than the back nine. The fairways are invitingly wide but if you miss them, you'll be faced with thick fescue. The back nine takes advantage of the surprisingly undulating terrain, which is unexpected since just across the river the land is almost totally flat. Annbriar's signature hole, the par-4 11th, was voted the best hole in the St. Louis area. From an elevated tee, golfers enjoy a stunning view as they play down into a valley. This hole is also the no. 1 handicap hole on Annbriar Golf Course.

Even this early in the season playing cart path only this course is nothibg short of stunning. Green were in nice shape for February.

Great experience, great course
Annbriar was great, despite winter conditions, again.
Fairways: dormant but very playable. Once the grass comes out of dormancy it’s going to be lush.
Tees: level, well maintained.
Greens: smooth, good condition, roll true, medium firm.
Bunkers: the margins need to be serviced after the winter for sure. But sand was deep with no standing water or mud in the bunkers.
Range: was closed for maintenance so no warm up. If that’s important to you please call ahead to ensure range access.
Staff was very friendly and welcoming. I was impressed that by my 11:30 tee time they had everything running back on time after a 1.5 hour frost delay that morning.

Best Public Course in the Metro Area
Annbriar has always been my favorite course in the St Louis area. It plays fair with some interesting and challenging holes. The fairways and greens are always in great shape. But maybe the best thing I can say is that when I bring a guest who hasn't played here before they can't stop going on about how great a course it is. I'm a golf genius for a day!

I can't exactly say that I can look for much better when playing a public course. I will be playing this course every time I'm in town.
Annbriar Is Always Friendly & Welcoming
This is my favorite course in the St. Louis metro area, I really love coming to this place because I know the staff will be friendly and welcoming. With a off-season rate of $47 - nothing comes close to Annbriar. Plus, it also has the best layout in the area too.
It was early November and the contrast of the dormant zoysia fairways and the green rough was beautiful. Course in great shape for mid-November.
When we played, they were adding sand to the bunkers. Also, the new starter pavilion is taking shape, with the same red roof as the signature smokehouse near the clubhouse.
Just a pleasure to play this course. Always look forward to playing Annbriar.

Gusty Day
Staff treated me right after a mixup on my part! As always the course was beautiful and the trees turning were an extra bonus. My only negative would be pace was slow and no marshal in sight. My group was in no hurry but pace is always important.
Course is excellent, I've played there many times. The pace of play was very slow this round. We waited on every tee box starting on the 4th tee. The front side took 2 hours 35 minutes to play. At the turn I got permission from the pro shop to play the front side again, rather than wait on each hole on the back side. I replayed the front side in 1 hour and 20 minutes. Thank you for letting me play the front again.
Best in the St. Louis area
This course checks all my boxes. Always in great condition. Very playable for all skill levels. Plenty of challenges but opportunities for bail out areas for the conservative player.
Overall great course
Course was in great condition. For the price you pay, there should be a Marshall out there hurrying the slow players up. The back nine took 3 hours to complete and in total 5 hour round.
