About
Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo is one of the top 10 golf courses in Illinois. The course was built on rolling farmland covered with native wild grasses. The layout eases you into the challenges with a links-style front nine that is less demanding than the back nine. The fairways are invitingly wide but if you miss them, you'll be faced with thick fescue. The back nine takes advantage of the surprisingly undulating terrain, which is unexpected since just across the river the land is almost totally flat. Annbriar's signature hole, the par-4 11th, was voted the best hole in the St. Louis area. From an elevated tee, golfers enjoy a stunning view as they play down into a valley. This hole is also the no. 1 handicap hole on Annbriar Golf Course.

Labor day round
Everything was perfect. My friends and I played as 2 teams on Labor day. Annbriar is the best public course in St.Louis area. I guarantee for everyone. The only thing I do not like is water. There was no water fountain on the course and no cart person.
Simply The Best
Annbriar is unsurpassed in the St. Louis metro area as far as course design, course conditions, value of the course you are playing and being service oriented and friendly.
Annbriar starts out as a flat course through the first 7 holes but after that you have elevation changes and excellent design through out the entire course. With Hole 11, being the most beautiful hole in the area. The tees, fairways and greens were in excellent condition. I played with someone who is a member of a private club in St. Louis (Algonquin) and he mentioned he was so impressed with the conditions of this public golf course. Annbriar charges $70 for their weekend rate. You will not find a better value.
To demonstrate their commitment to service and being friendly, a friend of mine noticed he had two spikes missing on his golf shoe. Annbriar had numerous spikes behind their counter and provided these to my friend for free. It was a struggle to get the last spike in, William Nobbe (the owner of Annbriar) jumped in and got out his pocket knife out and started working on the shoe and was able to get the spike on. Mr. Nobbe, a distinguished senior, is a constant fixture at the course. Many times, just sitting in the pro shop and chatting with the players. The service in the restaurant was outstanding too after the round.
They now have their new scorecards. With playing various tees on different holes, Annbrair now has 10 different yardages you can choose to fit your game.

Excellent condition
It had been 10+ years since I played Annbriar. What a treat. The course is in fantastic condition, there was no wait times between holes and the employees were super nice and helpful. We'll be back!!

Still amazing but No Water and Slow Pace of Play
In 90 degree temps, there should be water stations through out the course but there was none except for the only one inside the clubhouse. Also, no way to get water as we only saw the beer cart once at the very beginning of the round. Also the pace of play was terrible. There were several groups slowing a number of us that added a good hour plus to the round. Otherwise, this course is my favorite to play in STL area.

Parched
Never saw the drink girl after the tenth hole. It was a hot day and I was drinking water and Gatorade but never saw the drink girl again after about 2 o’clock. Other than that good course.

Awesome Course
Visiting the area and I am glad I made the choice to play this course. Great layout, tees, fairways and greens were in great shape considering the rain the area received recently. Played with a gentleman and his son, and they made it just as fun. Staff was awesome as well.
Only negative was the heat/humidity.

One of the Best Tracks
This is always one of the cleanest courses in my rotation of playing. The course isn't the hardest but definitely isn't a easy track to play. I absolutely love the layout and design. I'll definitely be back out again before the end of the year.
