About
Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo is one of the top 10 golf courses in Illinois. The course was built on rolling farmland covered with native wild grasses. The layout eases you into the challenges with a links-style front nine that is less demanding than the back nine. The fairways are invitingly wide but if you miss them, you'll be faced with thick fescue. The back nine takes advantage of the surprisingly undulating terrain, which is unexpected since just across the river the land is almost totally flat. Annbriar's signature hole, the par-4 11th, was voted the best hole in the St. Louis area. From an elevated tee, golfers enjoy a stunning view as they play down into a valley. This hole is also the no. 1 handicap hole on Annbriar Golf Course.

Annbriar is an outstanding public golf course
Annbriar is in pristine condition. The pace of play was a little too slow, but the beverage cart girl made enough passes to keep us hydrated. Looking forward to the next round!
Course in excellent condition
This is a very nice course in excellent playing condition. If you have trouble hitting it straight you will struggle and should consider playing another course. Pace of play was slow and the absence of a Marshal helping things along is the worst thing about Annbriar. I have played here before and experienced extremely slow play then, too.

Course got backed up on the back 9 because of slow play in front of us - that was the only bad thing about the otherwise enjoyable round. Will definitely e back soon.

Golf heaven In Sw Illinois
Annbriar just puts one in a great state of mind. We play in the Sun nite couples league and it’s lots of fun. Food is great the steak sand is a must.

It’s been a longtime since we played there. Usually a little pricey. Found a good price on Golf Now. Used some certificates. Really nice. Signage is a little confusing. But was a perfect day 80 degree in August.

One of the best in the area
Annbriar is an outstanding course and certainly one of the best in the St. Louis area. The cart staff was friendly and helpful. They have a good menu and beer selection. The course was busy and maybe overbooked but it was the weekend. Terrific design and a nice variety of holes all in good condition. Again, a wonderful course and one of the best in the area.

Great Design, Great Shape, Great Price. Need To Make Some Common Sense Changes.
The course is very green with all the rain now. It is a wonderful design, in great shape and always a fair price. I did notice they made the right fairway bunker smaller and flatter on hole 9, to prevent balls from getting caught under the lip and having no way to advance the ball. Great change! However, they need to make a couple more.
As I have said in my other reviews, Annbriar still needs to make some common sense changes but have yet to implement them. I’m a big believer you should not be penalized for hitting the ball in the fairway. When I played on Saturday, they had the pin on the left side of the green of hole 13 again. You cannot hit your shot at the pin because of a large, overhanging sycamore tree branch blocking the left side of the green. Annbriar needs to do one of two things: cut down the branch or put all pin placements on that hole in the middle or the right side of the green. I’ve included a picture of the branch and the green. Please do not penalize a player for hitting the ball in the fairway and having no shot at the pin.
Annbriar is the only course I play that still uses the small flag on the flagstick, to indicate if the pin is front, middle or back. All their flag colors are red. Let’s move to what all other courses have done for years. Red flag front, white middle and blue back. Very simple and helps speeds up play.
Annbriar is a great course in great shape. However, they need to make these common sense changes.
