Annbriar Golf Course

About
Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo is one of the top 10 golf courses in Illinois. The course was built on rolling farmland covered with native wild grasses. The layout eases you into the challenges with a links-style front nine that is less demanding than the back nine. The fairways are invitingly wide but if you miss them, you'll be faced with thick fescue. The back nine takes advantage of the surprisingly undulating terrain, which is unexpected since just across the river the land is almost totally flat. Annbriar's signature hole, the par-4 11th, was voted the best hole in the St. Louis area. From an elevated tee, golfers enjoy a stunning view as they play down into a valley. This hole is also the no. 1 handicap hole on Annbriar Golf Course.

Great layout
Got a great deal on golf now and was told by people go play this course . The course is outstanding and immaculate, greens were true and rolled well . Really enjoyed the course and the layout . I have to give the course 5 star rating . As for the staff , friendly in the pro shop who I dealt with . However the old guy outside at the starter box was not very friendly and questioned what I was doing , don’t know why . Also I had a tee time and was by myself and in between groups of fours . The guys in front were extremely slow and were at least a hole behind . They need Marshall’s on the course to keep the play under control and the pace of play . No Marshall on the first tee which wasn’t good as people were not on the tee on time . I would go back for another game for sure but they need a Marshall on the course to keep things going along smoothly
Ladies advantage
Ladies tees provides a good advantage which makes it a fun challenge for women
I play a lot, all over stl. This is a little bit of a drive and is a little pricey, it it has the BEST tee boxes, fairways and greens. Hands down horrible pace of play, but excellent quality gc.
Nice Course Rough is a little thick
It was a really nice course the rough was a little thick when we played make sure to club up
A Good Day
Annbriar is a solid course. It is always in good shape. It’s a good layout but a few goofy holes on the back nine that always slows down play. The bar and grill is really good and the staff is friendly. Definitely in the top five or ten in the St. Louis area.
annbriar
Played on a Sunday, everything was good except the pace of play %.5 hour round. I have played the course many times, one of the best public courses in the Stt. Louis area.
Annbriar is one of my all time favorites. Only reason for the 4 on Course Conditions was due to all the recent rains. Not much to be done, and the course was in good shape in spite of that
My Favorite Course in the St. Louis Metro Area!
The title of this review says it all! It's my favorite course in the St. Louis Metro Area. If I had one course that I could play every day and use every club in my bag, Annbriar is that course! It's always in great shape and it's a great test for your all around game tee to green. I could not recommend any course any higher the Annbriar. It's simply the BEST!
Always a fun and challenging tract
Played Annbriar because my club is closed on Mondays, and as a bonus, it was off paths (my club is on paths if some one spits on the course) so being off paths during a rainy April was nice. Course is beautiful; holes all challenging. Because of the rain the bunkers were not groomed, and the greens had just been punched so they were bumpy which made putting a guessing game. Those two problems are obviously short term, so no concerns about the course being perfect in a bout a week, or when we get drier weather
Just Aerated
I would suggest waiting a few weeks to play Annbriar as they aerated last week. The greens were sandy, bumpy and incredibly slow and unreliable. Such a great course - $10 off is not enough to get me to play until the cgreens fully recover.
