About
Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo is one of the top 10 golf courses in Illinois. The course was built on rolling farmland covered with native wild grasses. The layout eases you into the challenges with a links-style front nine that is less demanding than the back nine. The fairways are invitingly wide but if you miss them, you'll be faced with thick fescue. The back nine takes advantage of the surprisingly undulating terrain, which is unexpected since just across the river the land is almost totally flat. Annbriar's signature hole, the par-4 11th, was voted the best hole in the St. Louis area. From an elevated tee, golfers enjoy a stunning view as they play down into a valley. This hole is also the no. 1 handicap hole on Annbriar Golf Course.

Great course but painfully slow pace of play
I love this course. It is a Top 10 public course with a links feel on the front nine and a beautiful wooded layout on the back. If you are struggling with accuracy, it is extremely challenging. My review is impacted by the fact that my round took over 5.5 hours. A morning event preceded our 1 p.m. tee time and the pace of play was the worst I have ever experienced. There were no marshalls or cart service on the course on a warm, June Sunday afternoon. We were 20 minutes late getting started and we waited on every hole. It was painful.

Awesome Annbriar
Always great to drive across the bridge to play Annbriar. It was in fantastic condition. We played middle afternoon and I believe it cost us $45 which was an outstanding deal. Greens were rolling well. This plays is easily my favorite public course in the St. Louis area.

TV Golf Course!!!
Every time that we play this course my son says that it looks like a “tv course”! It is always in great shape. Looks amazing. The staff is friendly snd outgoing. I brag about this course to my out of town friends.

The course was set up perfect, just like on the PGA tour loved it . This is one of my all time favorite courses.

Impeccable Conditions
The best course in the St. Louis Metro area. With all the hot weather, the course was in the best shape I've ever seen it. It is such a joy to play there. The friendliness of the staff, course conditions and a fair price for an outstanding course.

Outstanding day
In spite of the COVID situation, the staff was great; had everything set up well to check in and get carts.
The course was in outstanding shape. The roughs are challenging, but well groomed. The greens were great as well. Maybe a little water on the tee boxes would have been a tad better.
Overall still one of the best courses in the St. Louis area.

Annbriar is a beautiful course with interesting holes. A little expensive but the staff takes care of you and delivers a classy experience. Be prepared for a fun but difficult round!

Slow Play
Course layout is phenomenal one of my favorites. This was my second time not being able to finish my 18 due to older twosomes playing very slow and not letting anyone through. The clientele is questionable as far as play and etiquette. Wish I could say I loved it but the pace of play has made me not want to go back. Wish this wasn’t the case. The architect nailed it.
