Annbriar Golf Course
About
Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo is one of the top 10 golf courses in Illinois. The course was built on rolling farmland covered with native wild grasses. The layout eases you into the challenges with a links-style front nine that is less demanding than the back nine. The fairways are invitingly wide but if you miss them, you'll be faced with thick fescue. The back nine takes advantage of the surprisingly undulating terrain, which is unexpected since just across the river the land is almost totally flat. Annbriar's signature hole, the par-4 11th, was voted the best hole in the St. Louis area. From an elevated tee, golfers enjoy a stunning view as they play down into a valley. This hole is also the no. 1 handicap hole on Annbriar Golf Course.

Annbriar
The course as always was in great shape. Greens were firm and fast....only wish the pace of play was too. I just don't understand 5 + hour rounds of golf when there was a ranger riding around the course all day. After our round we got fabulous chicken and philly cheese steak sandwiches.
Slow Play
Waiting on every shot on the front nine. Got to the 10th tee and there were 3 groups waiting to tee off so we left.
To play Annbriar should be on everyone's bucket list
Great shape for April. Don't miss this course. A must for every golfer no matter the ability.
All ways challenging and scenic
This course gets it. Reduced price for the weekend so as I expected the greens had been aerated recently. Many courses are charging full price. Regardless, this course is always a pleasure to play. One of our foursome is new to the area and this course is his new favorite. Good job, folks.
First time on this course
Great layout, had a nice round. I’m sure when the weather warms up this will be a super place to play a round of golf. I’ll be back.
Awesome course!
I got a great deal on this course which is why i was abke to afford to play there and I am glad I did. The course is beautiful! We had nobody in front of us or behind us so we were aboe to take our time which was awesome! Highly recommend this course! I am a broke college student so keep the Hot Deals coming and I will be able to get there again!!
Green grass coming
Course was in good shape for the tail end of winter
Numerous places grass was starting to green up
Great Course, not enough regulation on slow play
Love Annbriar; it is one of the top public course in the St. Louis area. Fortunate to have a 50' day in January to play some golf at a great hot deal rate for a foursome at noon on Sunday. Unfortunate to have a BRUTALLY slow pace of play on the course. The front 9 took 3 hours. The workers said there was a slow 4-some a few groups ahead of us, however there was also 2 2-somes that would not group up together. When we called the pro shop they said they couldn't make them play together (which seemed strange to me) but said they would get a ranger out to move things along. We let a single play through thinking he'd get to join, but the 2-some refused like some bozos. After playing/waiting 2:30 hours we saw the staff head out when we were waiting on the 8th tee box to move things along. Again, Annbriar is one of the top courses in St. Louis, but this was a disappointing round (5+ hours) and certainly a let down.
My favorite course in the St. Louis metro area
Believe me, I’ve played every public course with 100 miles of St. Louis and you will not find a more beautiful, peaceful and challenging 18 holes...period. The only home on the course is the original farmhouse. It’s a true escape and pleasure to play every single time.
Another great round at Ann Briar
Took advantage of a great Golf Now Hot Deal for my last 18hole round for the year. Conditions were excellent for end of December. Greens putted moderately fast and true. The staff was very friendly and we played in 3 and 1/2hours. All in all, a great end to the golf year. Couldn’t find anything to complain about.
STL golf gets NO BETTER than Annbriar
This course is just fun on just about every hole. Greens can be tough, scenery fantastic, and the golf is as good as it gets anywhere within an hour of STL.
A beautiful and challenging course
Annbriar is a jewel as one of the best courses in the St Louis area. Two challenging nines - one with open dunes style and the other of the wooded variety. The scenery is beautiful, but you have to stay sharp because the layout can be very challenging. Nice practice facilities - driving, putting & sand. The staff in the clubhouse is very friendly and welcoming, and don't forget to eat at the grill because the food is really top notch...so many choices! Highly recommended to recreational and serious golfers.
Ann would have been proud of her course
I have played several times a year since its opening. It is by far the best public course in the area 75 mile radius from my house. Have played 544 different courses and 167 in the area 80 mile radius. The course conditions are not always perfect but range from very good to acceptable. The design and layout are right on. How many golf course can claim having a golfer fall in a sink hole on the course? I have ranked Annbriar 25 out of 544 total courses.
Love this golf course!
They have changed a few Of the holes to make easier play—#11 comes to mind. Really enjoyed the day !
