Annbriar Golf Course

This was the first time playing Anbriar Golf Course and I couldn't have been happier. The holes were designed so that no two were all that similar. The surroundings are quite picturesque. The roughs, fairways and greens were in very good condition (especially the fairways). If you haven't played Anbriar, you must. Given that much of the surroundings in Waterloo, IL seem very flat and rural, it was a pleasant surprise that this this excellent course really pops topography. There are a number of fairly flat holes, mixed in with many very hilly layouts. Obstacles include bunkers and some limited water hazards (we played the back 9, there might have been more on the front).

My only criticism is that there were no bathroom facilities on the course itself (again, at least not on the back 9). That addition would make this an absolutely perfect course.

I guarantee you will enjoy this course. Only behind some of the nicer resort courses near Lake of the Ozarks, this is one of the best courses I've played in the Midwest.

It's also a very good value for the money (we played twilight rates).

Very nice course, although their starting system held us up for 30-45 minutes after the first hole. They allowed a group of 16-20 which were waiting on the second tee to go off. Play increased as the round progressed. Rough areas needed mowing. Fairways and greens in wonderful condition.

Fairways were in perfect condition. Greens rolled smooth and were in great shape.

Very nice and well managed ...plus close to St.louis Mo. Everytime I have played this course I have wished it were in St.louis...The drive really is not bad and well worth it

to play on a quality golf course.

Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in great shape. Layout is challenging but very enjoyable. Definitely one of the premier public courses in STL.

First time playing Annbriar. Course was in excellent condition. Has great features. Unbelievable value for the quality of this course you just have to be willing to drive a little further.

Great course. Excellent layout

I had heard so much about this course over the last few years since I moved here that I had to play it, and was underwhelmed. Make no mistake, the course is beautiful and in great shape, what I found ridiculous was the pace of play. Most courses space the groups out every 10 minutes, here it's 9 and if you don't think that's a big deal, get behind a lousy foursome like we did. Play was stacked up behind us, and in front of them and there was no where for us to go...and that's fine, I get it but no way should a round take 5 hours, and this one did. For the money, I'd probably play elsewhere.

Fun course. Zosia s almost green. Aerated greens stilll healing so poor putting conditions.

The greens were recently sanded and plugged and were really not in shape to play. Having no decent greens to putt on was very disappointing. Perhaps in the future when this needs to be done it can be spread out so the greeens on the whole course are not a disaster.

Course was in great condition and the staff were super friendly. This is a tough challenge especially if the wind blows. Enjoy and try to score on the front, it's flatter and more open, then strap yourself in for the back. Literally. With the elevation changes you get dramatic views and it turns up the difficulty. Still very enjoyable though!

This course is one of the best year round in the St. Louis area. It is not cheap by any means but it is defiantly worth every penny. Even in in the winter it is pristine. Will continue to play a few times a year.

For winter time the course was great. The girls the pro shop were extra nice. Thank u guys

I have always liked Annbriar. The golf course is very fair, and is in fairly good shape for this late in the season. I wish they had a set of tees at 6,200-ish yards. Playing at sub-6,000 was easier than I want, but 6,500+ is more than I can handle.

We needed to wait for a frost delay. I understand the need for a delay, but we were not updated on a consistent basis. A little more information from the staff would have made the wait easier.

Great layout and course is in great shape. Staff was very friendly. Only bad thing was pace of play. We had a threesome and were followed by a twosome. Front 9 was backed up at somewhere 3-4 groups ahead of us. On the back 9, we waited on the 4 some ahead of us what seemed for ever on every shot. No one else was in sight. It took 5 hours to play. We finished in the dark, guessing where our balls landed on the final whole. Would have liked to see a marshal on the course at least once.

Course was in really good shape until we got to the green. Unfortunate timing on our part , I guess . The greens were recently aerated, so it was really frustrating! So no criticism to the course, guess greens have to be aerated in the fall. The fairways, tees, collars , and traps , were all in good shape and usually always are at Annbriar.

Best public access course in the area. Great layout , course in excellent condition. Thinking of playing here? Do it!

The staff is friendly. William is always nice to talk to. He remembers me every time I play even though I'm not a regular any more. The course is always a challenge and in great condition. It doesn't hurt that I played with good friends!
