Ocean City Golf Club - Seaside
About
Ocean City Golf Club offers two championship courses: Newport Bay and Seaside. Opened in 1959, the Seaside Course is the club's original layout and since opening it has remained an Eastern shore favorite. It has a more traditional design than the other course, which underwent a renovation and rebuild. Seaside offers classic greens tightly lined with bunkers that are balanced with wide-open, player-friendly fairways. It is a challenging but playable test that is popular amongst locals. Five sets of tees make it even more approachable. The views of the marshes and bay, as well as the trees, give the course the feel of one in the Carolinas. In addition to the two courses, Ocean City Golf Club also offers a driving range and putting green before teeing off.

Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Maryland (2018 #17)
Reviews
For the price well worth it.
I played with some new people to the golf world. We all played at a great pace. The course was in very good shape. Next time I will play the Newport Bay course.
First Time on Course
Our wives played with us today and we went out on Seaside. We were essentially on the course by ourselves so the wives felt comfortable not being pushed. The course was in great shape, flat without much bunkers or water to keep us from just hitting straight. The greens were hard and fast, and it took about 16 holes to get used to them.
Everyone said they would come back anytime to play, as it was very comfortable for their skill level.
Rough was cut low and wooded areas were kept clean so that you could easily find your ball. A big plus for us.
Good deal, but course too jammed
The holes are too close together and you always have someone in your fairway from another hole, the greens can use some work, overall descent for the deal I got on golfnow
Outstanding "mid-level" course
Open fairways, few hazards, hard to lose a ball (although I did). Almost all holes either straight-on or moderate doglegs. Course in really good condition - greens/traps extremely well-maintained. Great lunch. Staff very friendly. Probably not for low handicap golfers looking for real challenge.
Night and day
Two courses
Seaside; Short classic course from the 50's. Small greens with few bunkers.
Newport: Modern, longer, more bunkered, and more difficult. Water in play.
Problems: Greens are fast,hard-many shots roll thru.
Bunkers:many have poor sand and hard.
Rough: Splotchy,uneven-play preferred lies.
N.B. This is a public golf course!
Too may tee times!
My tee time was 2:12. The course was so backed up that we didn't tee off until about 2:35 or 2:40 and finished about 7 p.m. We arrived an hour before our tee time so it makes for a long day. The course didn't even have enough carts for the golfers. The price I paid on GolfNow made it worth it. If I had paid the full price charged by the golf course, I would have been furious. The course conditions in no way reflect the rates they are charging.
a little soggy
Course was in pretty good shape considering it was cart path only. The rain this spring has left the course soggy and soft. Will have to come back to play when it is a bit dryer.
Could be better
Greens were in good overall condition. Fairways and tee boxes were a bit rough. Not worth the premium rate Ocean City Golf and Yacht Club charge in the summer. I'd only play again for a discounted rate I would never pay full price for this course. Not with some of the other options in the area for the same price or less.
Every hole has something different to offer.
One of my favorite courses in the Ocean City area. I play this one more frequently than the others in my area. The two 18 hole courses provide a challenge for the beginner as well as the seasoned player. Great value, quick play and a fantastic staff is why more tournaments are held at the Ocean City course. Their club house, pro shop and banquet facilities a just a few of the many reasons for its popularity.10/28/2013Ocean City
Two courses to choose from.
Newport Bay Course is a nicer and more difficult course than Seaside, but the pace of play on Seaside is faster. That said, we enjoyed them both. We'll be back next year
Great Value for the Money
Seaside is a good choice for the budget-minded golfer going to Ocean City. The course is not as scenic or as close to the water as its sister course, Newport Bay, but still has its attractions. This is very much an old-style course with many doglegs. Accuracy is more important than length.
Beautiful Course
I played on a day when they had an outing going on their other course. The staff in the restaurant was busy setting up for the outing and I couldn't get anything before my round. Fortunately they had a beverage cart operating. Other than that the course was in great condition and the pace of play was very good. We played in a little over four hours even though it was cart path only.
Good course for the money.
Course is in great shape. It is not the prettiest course but it is a fun round.
The course was ingreat shape dispite being soft and mushy after the rains earlier in the week.
The course was in good shape., The experience from the bag drop to the end of the round was super.
Love both courses located here
Course in very good shape. Greens and fringes in very good shape. I enjoy playing the course. I play it often. Only down side no water coolers on course. Big prblem if it is hot/humid. Make sure you have water or get it at the clubhouse before you go out.
Great looking course. Well maintained and fun to play.
Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted and assisted by the staff. The course layout was explained to us and the rules for the day laid out. The condition of the course was very good. We moved along at even pace and never met delays.
The course is user friendly and enjoyable. There was just the right amount of challenge for the average recreational player.
Great value and we will play there again next season.
Average Course
The other course had a member/guest tournament going on so we could play that course. I would skip this course and play the other course. A few bucks more, but clearly they spend more time maintaining the other course.
Great course, always great condition.
Both courses at Ocean City (Newport and Seaside) are always in great condition, offer a challenge for golfers of all levels with many interesting holes. The staff is always helpful and friendly, but not pushy about it. Never had a bad experience there and have played there at least 20 times per year since 2006.
Good course for all handicaps
We played Seaside .. I couldn't help but notice that each hole is challenging but fair .. There are no required 200 yard carries over marsh or water .. no extremely narrow fairways ... but most par 4s and 5s have doglegs and are well-bunkered ..Very playable
