Ocean City Golf Club - Newport Bay

I last played this course many, many years ago when it was the only golf in the OC area. Decent then, but very crowded with horrible pace of play. Still, the only game in town.

Apparently redone, it's a very economical treat that is pleasin to the eye. Greens run true. Perhaps our speedy round was due to our tee time immediately succeeding an outing, but it's worth a try if you're in the area particularly if your skills are average at best.

Heat index reached over 100 degrees, guess how many water stations for the entire 18 holes? 1!!!!! Unbelievable how course management could take your money and provide nothing in return. Bev cart was seen twice, and could purchase water. Unreal. Have played here a few times, but after they showed little regard for safety I will never play here again. Almost passed out at 15.

Good variety in hole layouts & outstand views of bay and marsh lands.

We live in the area and this is one of our favorite courses. We went off early in front of a large group of foursomes so our pace was excellent. Fairways and greens in good condition. Even the rough wasn't bad. Very scenic on a lot of the holes overlooking the

Assategue Bay and marsh. Some carries but manageable. For the price including a cart, it's a great value. It poured for 45 minutes but they were able to reopen so we could finish the round. Fairways were very wet but the greens drain well. They used to have great hamburgers but didn't get a chance to try them out this time.

Course is in great condition ! Courteous staff and helpful attendants ! Will play there again soon !

Course in great shape after many days of rain.. Hot deal was perfect made for a great time..

We finished our morning round early and headed here for our afternoon tee time. In the parking lot/bag drop area were two groups for 5-6 foursomes. Each going out on different courses. They were drinking to excess to say the least prior to going out. While on the course they were loud and rude. They threw beer cans and insults at other golfers. The speed of play was at a crawl. The ranger were told repeatedly. He did nothing but say they paid their money to play. After nine holes the rangers were no where to be found. At one point at the 14th hole their were 6 groups on the hole or waiting to play. After the end of this 5 Hr and 20 minute round, the course staff was gone. The pro stop closed and all the rangers and starter were gone.. Possibly the worse golf experience I have ever had.

The golf course is an excellent layout in pretty good shape. We were very disappointed in the pace of play. Never saw a Marshall the entire 5 1/2 hours plus to play 18 holes. We waited on every single hole, every single shot and it never opened up. One group playing extremely slow was allowed to stifle everyone behind them. Very poor job of monitoring pace of play by management.

Seaside is a fun course for a high handicap golfer. Skilled players will not be challenged. Not particularly scenic but well maintained and in very good condition. Regular green fees in the $65-$75 range are too expensive for this course. However, a Golf Now Hot Deal rate of $34 was a great value.

The Newport Bay course a OCGC is one of my favorite tracks on Delmarva. However, playing it this past week was quite a disappointment. The bermuda fairways were no where near ready for play and the greens still had pock marks from the last aeration, all at a premium price. Given the condition, a significantly reduced green fee should have been applied.

Even though the weather was bad; 50 degrees, overcast and gusts up to 30 mph we had fun. This course is most challenging because it has a half dozen dog leg lefts, so shaping shots is key.

Always in nice condition always challenging always fun to play

Played Newport Bay 1st and pace was great. Enjoyed it so much did a replay on Seaside. Two different courses and both were in good shape. Greens rolled true! We spent 100.00 total for 2 people and played 36 holes of golf each. Can't beat the price, will play again.

Haven't played there in several years. Couse was in great condition and challenging. Staff very friendly. Only problem was they ran out of practice balls. They need a bigger automatic ball machine. Would play again

The staff could not have been nicer. There is not much water in play. Well maintained course and facilities. Large clubhouse. Frequent beverage cart. Overall very good golfing experience.

Course was in amazing shape. The greens were in super shape.
Very good layout. Nice little practice area next to the putting green.

Country club treatment and playing conditions. Newport course was in immaculate condition. Fairways wwre evenly cut and greens rolled true. Extremely friendly staff with good food and service. Definitely a must play if in the OC MD area.

Newport Bay is a beautiful course with many challenging but fair holes. The place of play was a little slow but ok. The greens were in excellent shape. The price is right if you have a discount.

The Newport Bay course is a joy to play as the conditions are excellent, and the views spectacular. With friendly and very accommodating staff this course rates as one of my all time favorites.
