Ocean City Golf Club - Newport Bay
About
Ocean City Golf Club boasts 36 holes of championship golf. The Seaside Course opened in 1959 and it was later joined by the Newport Bay Course. Both offer scenic views of the surrounding marshes and bay. Newport Bay is a formidable challenge but it will test your ability to think strategically, not your distance. Strategically placed bunkers come into play and the subtle contours of the landscape were utilized to their full extent. The course is a formidable test but it is player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. The golf course also touts some of the most scenic views on the Mid-Atlantic coast, although the surroundings are more Carolinian in feel. Both of Ocean City's courses offer something different. Seaside has a more traditional design but both offer plenty of variety.

Great value for nice course
We got a great bargain to play this course during Fourth of July week at the shore in Ocean City, MD. We started on-time, but found early that we were a 2-some behind a foursome. That group allowed us through. After we caught up to another 2, with beginning golfers, we were allowed through again. We followed another 2 for the final third of the round. We enjoyed the course, but without a book, it was difficult to know the path of some of the holes, and distances to doglegs or landing areas. It may have been better to team us up to be a four so as to not push other golfers. Staff was very nice, and the experience was good. We would return.
My brother-law and I play here anytime we are in town. 2 nice courses, great club house and staff. Always fun
booked 2 t-times on the Newport Bay course -- our favorite course. Was in great condition and speed of play was good
Newport Bay Course more interesting then Seaside
In Ocean City select Newport Bay over Seaside. Newport Bay have many interesting holes, Plenty of wind off the bay. Seaside is back and forth, not as interesting.
Both are called Ocean City - xxx in GolfNow. Same clubhouse. Nice facilities if you prefer to shower before you go to dinner. Bring your towel. Hot deals around $30 beat other nice courses in DelMarVa.
Great resort course.
I play here fairly often. The wind can really change the degree of difficulty. Bermuda fairways are finally green ! Overall the course is in great shape.
Great views of the bay and wetlands. Course design was well thought out.
Loved the layout. Good mix of chalenging holes and easy holes. Nice scenery. A little pricey if not booked through golfnow.com

great course, friendly staff, almost too friendly. Very challenging course. GolfNow price was quite a bargain for this course.
Nice Course!
I'll begin with the really only hiccup to the outing was the 5 hr pace of play (5hr 6min). The Seaside course was closed due to aeration so it was understandable the Newport Bay course would be full. Slow play affects my play but for the value I can't berate. Course was in good shape although the greens didn't look to be in the "customary" great shape. Some great challenging holes and Ranger Don was great and checked in with most every group along the course to see how things were going. Overall, a must stop especially if you get a fantastic rate like we did.
Solid Value
Course is in much better shape then it was a few years ago. Greens were very true
Greens are fast and true.
From the time you drop of your bag to the finish everyone is extremely warm and professional.
Very nice scenery.
Staff was not very accommodating ---- --- raining, one of our party is handicapped and due to the possibility of slipping on the wet grass and raised tee boxes, decided not to play. Pro Shop personnel would not credit our credit card account for his portion of the total bill, and we were charged as if he had played a full round.
It is very doubtful that we will ever play there again.
Seaside was nice in early May!
The condition of the gold course was very nice. It had rained for two days straight just thirty-six hours before we played and there wasn't any sign of water in the fairways or around the greens. There was a very minute amount in some rough areas between holes. The fairways were in very good condition as was the greens. The greens were fast and had good roll. A great value at just twenty-five dollars.
Nice view on the bay on backnine
Played de Newport Bay course on a cold and very windy day.
The greens were fast and the roll is good. The fairways definitely needs more attention. The definition between rough and fairway is poor. I preferred the backnine because of the view on the bay is very nice.
Great scenery!
We enjoyed playing this course. Unfortunately, the grasses were mainly dormant, so fairways did not have much color in April. The views of the adjoining marsh and bay areas always are superb. The breezes can alter your shots, so be careful, or a very playable course can turn harsh in a hurry. With the discounted rate, it was a great value as well.
Newport course is very scenic
I'll return, great value for a nice location. i liked Newport over Seaside
Nice layout with great water views
This is the better of the Ocean City Country Courses. Reasonable condition for January. Greens were moderate speed, but a lot of unrepaired pitch marks. Not crowded. Played the white tees (6000 yds). Most holes have reasonable landing areas. Several holes require some planing or they can cause high scores.
Great course on a rotten day.
We have played this course this fall and it was fantastic, however on this day, it was cold, windy, and rain. The course has great holes and vistas (from before), but this day it was just not a good day for sightseeing. At least no one else was foolish enough to slow us down.
Newport Bay-Scenic and Challenging
Well established golf course with panaramic views of the Assawoman Bay. Difficult greens, challenging course layouts and friendly staff. Worth the value.
A nice challeging course
Played Newport Bay:
A nice break from the more demanding OC area resort couses. But you still have challeging holes and is not a push- over.
I would recommend playing newport bay in your course rotation.
