About
River Run Golf Club in Ocean City is just minutes away from the beach. The golf course has different front and back nines that make for an interesting round. This Gary Player design starts out across a wide-open landscape before moving on to more tree-lined terrain on the backside. The tighter back nine is tougher than the first nine but overall it's an approachable golf course. The player-friendly layout is gentle enough for beginners with medium-sized greens that aren't especially difficult and generous fairways that offer plenty of room. There is modest bunkering along the greens and fairways and a few lakes and some marshland come into play as well. While River Run Golf Club may not be the most formidable test, the course provides just enough of a challenge for scratch golfers.

Difficult course but good
Course winds through houses, fairways are narrow with no bail out, tree lined. Holes are interesting but difficult if you are a single digit handicap, no bail out areas, you cannot miss the fairway by even 10 feet. Greens were fast and true and firm, which I like. Stressful round for your game, not the place to go if you want a relaxing round with open layout. Staff was top notch, head pro was great. I wish it was a little bit of an easier layout so I would choose to play there more often.
Greens were superb
Great hot deals special on a high caliber course with the best greens I have putted all year. Only downside - the pace of play was annoyingly slow this day. Maybe the great weather had something to do with it. Overall very enjoyable round and a great value
Played after excessive rain
I played here a day after there was terrible rain. So it was cart path only, and the traps were terrible. Other than that it was a good time and the starter was great.
Pretty good
Layout is average but the fairways and greens are excellent. Be careful, if it’s cart path only, it’s a seven hour round behind the “golf trip” golfers. No Ranger or food cart person to help ease the pain. Also, $8 hot dogs and $13 burger at the shack at the turn! Pack snacks and eat elsewhere after. Clubhouse staff were great!
Nice course, well maintained
Course was in great condition, from tee boxes to fairways to greens. We had the course to ourselves, except for the ubiquitous lawnmowers. Had to wait for them to clear on several holes, and the constant noise subtracted about from an otherwise great experience.
Less than expected
I’ve played this course a good amount and have always liked it. However this time the fairways were in very patchy shape. Greens were good. Glad I used the Hot Deal to not pay the full price
Perfect day to golf!
My son and I had a great time golfing at River Run. The course was in good shape and the pace of play was good! It was a perfect day to golf!
