Hunter's Creek Golf Club

I played Hunter's Creek Golf Club last weekend with two buddies, one who had never played the course and one who has only played it once. The course was in great shape, full fairways, very thick rough, and greens that had the ball hold the line. Great course conditions plus a challenging layout made the round of golf very enjoyable, especially at the price. My two buddies were very impressed with the layout and condition of the course and look forward to playing out there again real soon.

Like the course over all very much, green roll fairly true except around cup; they are either older holes or cutting blade is dull.

Wonderful setting and very scenic winding through houses and condos. I suspect it has seen better days but for the money it was a decent deal. The greens were very slow - hard to get used too. It rained the night before so the sand traps were washed out. The score cards were out of date because tee boxes were obviously moved up to make it easier. Score cards didn't even match the tombstones at the tees. No map of course on score card or description of hole at the tee box. Not everyone has GPS. Fairways were decent but the rough was thick enough to easily lose a ball. Lots of weeds in the rough and different types of grass around the greens. Overall fun to play. Saturday morning round took 4:45 to play. Fortunately, lots of shady areas to sit under while waiting to tee off!!

Played at Hunter's Creek a dozen times and this was the best I've seen it in a while. Bunkers are still concrete and greens are really slow but very few burnt patches and dead spots. For the price and how empty it was, definitely would recommend it for a good value.

Well-kept fairways with moderately challenging greens. As a 12-handicap I thoroughly found the course to be fair, yet pose a few challenges throughout 18 holes. The thick rough was the biggest obstacle, and it can be easy to lose a few balls before you even know it. Still, this course is certainly worth the low price for admission. Will definitely be enjoying another round at Hunter's Creek in the near future.

The price for the course was great however the greens were not in its best condition. I will continue to play at this course and it is very fun.

I played this course years ago in 2003 and was impressed then. Nothing has changed. A demanding course in generally good condition though the greens were being tined but thie price seemed to be reduced to reflect this!!

It was a great course. We like courses that are wide open, spacious. The fairways, tee and greens were great. They did do some aerating(?) but, it was still great putting. Front 9 we were all by ourselves (it looked like it was going to storm but, it passed over) took our time. Back 9, some kid (11 yo) and his trainer came up on us on the 11th hole, the kid actually was up on the tee when I was hitting and not quite about it. That got us really upset. Then we moved ahead of them one hole and they were up on us again, we took our time and I guess we weren't fast enough because they passed us while we were playing the fairway without saying anything - very rude especially for a trainer/coach teaching a kid to play - no golf etiquette at all!! We'll go back, it's only 30 minutes from out home.

A couple days of rain and this course was soggier than oatmeal. Clumps of grass clippings everywhere, greens were like putting on a goat trail, and th bunkers looked like water hazards. I'm not saying there was a lot of standing water on the course, but when we checked in they said Bill Dance would be our guide and they handed us a bucket of minnows. It was hideous. Don't expect to make a putt longer that 1 foot. Leave your clubs at home and bring a snorkel.

This was the first time I played Hunter's Creek and was quite pleasantly surprised. It is a long course, however don't let that discourage you from playing. The layout is both challenging and fair at the same time.

The staff, from Jackson in the pro shop to Hunter at the cart return, where friendly, courteous, and helpful.

The course itself was in pretty good condition. The fairways played well and the greens were in pretty good shape. The only down side was that even though the greens were in good shape the grass was a bit long making them very slow, also some of the bunkers needed some attention.

Overall I would definitely say that the course is one I look forward to play again. Good value and great staff.

This course started our Orlando Golf Vacation and I might say I was astonished by the condition. I understand that rain had set in earlier in the week but most courses have pumps to help clear the water from the bunkers. I knew we were in trouble when my partner hit into a bunker and we looked for a lifeguard.

The grass on the greens were very thin in places and I was shocked that this course is open with these conditions. My picture shows ducks taking a bath in one of the bunkers there.Double click on the pic. Steer clear of this low rent course.

Arrived for an early tee time -- the guy who greeted us was great and friendly. I asked where I picked up rental Clubs and was told "he isn't here yet" (he did show up and I got the clubs). From there, it didn't get better. While I know a lot of rain had come through early in the week, it appeared that little had been done to help the course condition. Greens were patchy at best and the ones that weren't had grass as high as some fairways at other courses. The clincher was hitting a ball in a green side bunker, only to arrive at the green and find water so deep in the bunker that a duck was bathing in it!! No attempt to pump water out or make the traps halfway playable. My impression is that the management here is just getting by with what they can do and aren't really concerned about the condition of the course.

Nice set up , challenging course but well worth it, course is quite long but don't let that put you off, the young mancinian guy in shop was superb very informative about area and different courses to play, would play here again and definitely say it is worth a visit, nice lay out

Staff were superb from pro shop to green staff

Good layout and amenities. Greens recently aerated and some with areas under repair. Bunkers held water from overnight rain. All that said well worth the discounted off season price.
