Squirrel Run Country Club
About
Squirrel Run Golf Club offers some of the most scenic golf on the South Shore of Boston. The course is an executive layout that is gentle enough for beginners and even juniors to tackle with confidence. There are no par 5s on the golf course, most of the holes are under 140 yards. Even though you may not need distance, a strong short game will take you far on this course. Rough borders the fairways and there are a few strategically placed bunkers framing the greensides. Squirrel Run Golf Club is a very forgiving golf course overall and it may not be the most formidable test but there are a few tricky holes, like the par-3 13th. This is the golf course's signature hole that plays from an elevated tee over water to a green that slopes from back to front, and if that wasn't enough, the entire hole is at the mercy of the prevailing winds.

Short but fun
The course was in very good condition for this early in the season. The length is quite short with several of the holes under 100 yds. There are three nice par 4s to break things up on the front. Just make sure to use a GPS or rangefinder to double check the posted distances which were not always accurate.
Surprising Conditions
The course was in very good condition for mid April and after a bad Winter. The staff did an excellent job getting the course ready for play.
Fun Fall Golf
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The greens had some leaves but that is to be expected in December. Nice layout with challenging shots required. Easy to navigate. Definitely worth playing. I
Nice course to work on your irons/short game
I am undergoing physical therapy for rotator cuff tears and this is a great course to work on my irons and short game. Can have fun playing without having to take any hard swings. Very friendly staff, and was paired up with a really nice couple. Course and greens were in great shape. Have also played here when healthy and it is a nice course to fine tune your iron game.
WE MISSED THE OUTDOOR GRILLED HAMBURGER
WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SEEN FLAGS ON THE PRACTICE GREEN.
Hidden Gem
Squirrel Run is an extremely well maintained, lushly groomed course, especially for a round at this price range. The staff is very relaxed (as is the leisurely pace of play). The rolling greens add complexity to make up for the shorter distances and the fairway grass is perfectly cut (something that is not always the case for public courses in New England). The clubhouse is basic, but caters ideally to the regular retirement community. Squirrel Run is a top notch course and is definitely a hidden gem.
A Great Bang for your buck
I love Squirrel Run..it's a great course, grounds are well groomed, staff is great, a lot of fun to play!
Pure fun
This course is a blast to play, every hole ( even 17 ) grows on you - the more you play, the more you want to come back .... It's the best course in the world , I'd rather play this than some 7000 yard monster which will serve to do nothing but frustrate ... You won't regret playing here - ever!
very good par 3
I and my wife play this course often. It is always in incredible condition.
Very nice place to play a quick round.
We had a great round with great course conditions. I will recommend this course to others.
Staff always friendly and accommodating! Fun time!
great course
This is a great course even with the remnents of hurricain Jose blowing the ball and us around the course.
A Lot of Fun
My wife and I played with friends and both couples really enjoyed the round. Tee boxes and greens were in very good condition, as were most fairways. #17 is the only weak hole, needs branch trimming at least. Staff was professional and very friendly. Solid golf.
great course
Love this place. The pro shop guys are awesome and the course is ingreat shape.
Snails Pace
Course is fun to play but the pace of play was very slow, which to me is frustrating. Thankfully the twosome in front of us quit after nine holes and the pace of play was great.
Great course Great staff and thanks to David for getting Joe Mayer on after I booked the wrong day
I booked the wrong day somehow but Dave took good care of me and my guest and got us on when we wanted to. Outstanding Dave , thanks
