Oak Quarry Golf Club

AVOID!! Finished in 5 hours and 45 minutes. Called pro shop after 6 holes when 2 hours had gone by. Their excuse? “We have too many players on the course.” Ummm…shouldn’t you control that? Pay attention to the tee times, they’re sending groups out every 8 minutes. That’s way too aggressive and this course does not play fast, not to mention the high handicap golfers playing the blues.

No water stations on the course, no cart girl, hole signs used to be beautiful rock monuments now they’re cheap plastic that looks like they haven’t been replaced in years. It’s so sad, this used to be a beautiful course. But the management is totally lacking. Recommend you avoid until at least the tee times are more spread out.

Seek out and play this course. It is in the top 5 courses I have ever played. Excellent conditions and layout. Each hole is so unique. Green were very fast, which for a recreational golfer is not the best thing, but for a course of this caliber, it is understood. The only issue is the pace of play. I have seen many comments about the pace of play and we ran into it, so it may be best not to play on a weekend. I think the course could do a better job of groups it sends out. For us, it was a foursome in front of us, then us as a twosome, then a three some and then a twosome. The foursome killed pace of play and maybe better grouping would have lead to less groups and a faster pace of play. They also need to marshal the course as the foursome played as if they were in the Masters. Luckily we were able to pass them at the 7th hole, though they were not happy about it and we found out that the next three holes were wide open and we thus ended up playing in 4.5 hours because we took the initiative to pass otherwise I believe it would have been close to a 6 huor round.

Love the course. Range was not open as they were collecting golf balls because they had none left to give to customers. Buy some more range balls. They also need to have the starter by the first hole at all times. We were behind two twosomes which should have been grouped together as a foursome. This would of have sped up play. It took us 5:10 hrs. to play our round.

I love the lay out of the course and sondition.

I will play again.

Course is in very nice shape other than a few brown patches here and there. Greens are in great shape! Only complaint is the pace of play was terrible. Waited atleast 5 minutes on every tee box. It was a great day though and it’s a very challenging course. Definitely worth trying!

The course is beautiful and well-maintained; however, the pace of play was so slow. We waited at every tee box starting from the 3rd hole and completed our 4 hour 55 minute round with no marshal to be seen. A phone call to the Pro Shop got us an off-site reservation desk. After several calls to the Pro Shop, someone answered and said they'd send a marshal over but we never saw that person nor did they communicate what the issue was. I really don't believe a marshal was sent. The lack of communication is so frustrating!!!!!

Oak Quarry is by far one of the best public courses in the LA area. It was about an hour drive from the west side of the city and well worth the trip. The course is gorgeous and is a wonderful test of your game. They layout through the mountains is world class. The practice area was nice with a grass driving range, consistent with a course of this caliber. The only issue was the pace of play. For the amount of money spent we didnt see a single ranger the entire day and were stuck behind a truly slow group. We mentioned it on the way out and were told they "tracked the carts via GPS and they only had a hole ahead of them." That alone is worth a marshal's warning if we werent aware they had more than a 1 hole gap. Could have just been that day but for a weekend morning slot, that left a little to be desired. Overall very excited about the next round there.

Need more drinks on the course, access to drinks . Beautiful course .

Course can be challenging but the views are just incredible. Awesome hot dog deal at the turn too. Highly recommend!

We teed off at 12:08 and finished a little before 4:00. The course was in great shape, especially the greens. With a $64 rate as a Hot Deal, this can’t be beat! See you again next week.

Hands down this has to be one of if not the best golf course in Southern California. I’ve played a lot of courses in California from San Diego to Sacramento. Only one or two will compare to Oak Quarry in Riverside, CA. Can’t wait to play it again.

The course fee is too much for what you get. The teams are stacked too close together. We were often waiting to tee off with the team behind us waiting as well. No sight of the marshall and not a single cart girl running around. Course was nice and maintained but wouldn't play it again.
