Oak Quarry Golf Club

I was able to get this course on a hot deal and it was even better than I hoped tee time was at 12 and it was wide open till the 17 the hole.

Can play this golf course any time ,signature hole one of the best in southern california

Well, upon check-in, all went well. Folks at the front desk were kind. Although, we were not warned that every water station on the course would be disable and no beverage cart was on course. We saw the course marshal come by (lacking personality) several times, not carrying about our health and the lack of water. When we finished our around, I went in and told the front desk about the water station. Heat stroke is the most serious heat-related illness. It occurs when the body can no longer control its temperature: the body’s temperature rises rapidly, the sweating mechanism fails, and the body is unable to cool down. When heat stroke occurs, the body temperature can rise to 106°F or higher within 10 to 15 minutes. Heat stroke can cause permanent disability or death if the person does not receive emergency treatment. When I asked the staff if they new this they said yes. I asked them if they would past my concerns onto management and in a uncaring tone, “if you like”. At the beverage shake on hole 12, that person told us they were under new management and was working on it. Here is my tip, go to Home Depot and pick up four 10 gal. beverage coolers and fill them up with ice and water. You may save a life.

Beautiful course. Very tough, only a few miss spots if you are off. Long par 3s. Several more hilly spots that changed the ball placement and club selection. I'd probably use more 3 wood if I played again.

I will start off with, I won a free 2 some voucher which is why I played here today. If I had paid the Monday morning rack rate of $100 per person I would have gone nuclear for how bad of shape this place is currently sitting. Many tee boxes are rounded off & several bunkers on the course are currently under construction & the fellas working on them don’t care about you golfing. The course Marshall came by 1 time & asked us to move along a little quicker when the group in front of us was barely making their way on to the green for a short par 4. Lakes are low & stink, bunkers Aw like I said are under repair on many holes & the carts (pretty much new) come with zero amenities like tees, water or towel & are completely dirty with spider webs & caked on dirt. I really expected more for a course that charges what they do to the public. We got paired with a young man & his mom who (don’t golf & haven’t been there before) which caused us to play pretty slow.

The course visually is beautiful with the surroundings but I’m sorry currently it’s not worth what they are asking from the public, there are other courses much less expensive & provide better services.

Title says it all. Some of the bikers are horrid and some are actively being worked on. Wish they were decent enough to cut the price if they’re not going to have a completed course ready for us. Pace of play was super slow, but decent for a Sunday afternoon. 5.5 hour round, and we were on the tails of the group in front (who were themselves on the tail of the group in front of them)

Like the e course layout, fun!

My only issue is the course doesn’t route past food or drinks and no cart person, lost revenue

Think I was a bit let down by the high expectations that I had coming into this. Nice course though

I had the opportunity to play at Oak Quarry Golf Club on Tuesday, June 13th, and I must say, the overall experience was fantastic.

The entire staff were amazing. We were greeted at the bag drop and given the lay of the land, the bartender was happy to serve us, even though we only got coffee and water, the pro shop staff were friendly and the starter was helpful with course information.

This is the second time I’ve played, but first since they rerouted the course for convenience. #1 is now closer to the clubhouse and #18 is a now a great risk/reward par 5 that is sure to make close matches even more exciting.

The layout of the course is truly exceptional, considering it was literally a rock quarry until the late 70s. Definitely not a walking course, but few are nowadays. The architects made excellent use of the natural elevation, not only providing a visually stunning backdrop but also adding a practical element to the game.

One aspect that impressed me was the generosity of the landing areas. There is definitely trouble lurking beyond the fairs, but wayward shots tended to stay in play.

The greens were consistently well-maintained, striking a balance between being challenging yet fair. It's always a pleasure to putt on greens that require skill without being overly penalizing.

Overall, Oak Quarry Golf Club offers a delightful golfing experience with its captivating layout, picturesque elevation changes, and thoughtful design elements. If you're looking for a course that combines aesthetic appeal with a fair challenge, I highly recommend giving Oak Quarry a try.
