What a gem!
Travelled to Jersey over the weekend and got a chance to hit Rutgers University Golf Course. An absolute gem. This public course is in amazing shape
SHARING A CART ON A HOT DEAL STINKS!!!! 👎👎👎
Got a hot deal w a cart for $45 at Rutgers.
I was a Single and starter said on a hot deal single players must get paired up w someone else. THAT IS TOTAL BS AND HORRIBLE. NO WHERE ON GOLF NOW WHEN I BOOKED THIS TIME DID IT SAY THAT. There were at least 50 carts lined up. Not busy. You really have to jam me into a cart w some guy I don’t know. ????
What a joke. THIS POLICY STINKS AND NEEDS TO CHANGE!!!!! 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
RUTGERS GOLF
Course was in great shape. Practice area is a big plus!
Horrible staff
Staff are unprofessional. Lack common sense. Want you to play speed golf. Make you skip holes and rush you off the course so they can go home. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COURSE TO ANYONE TRYING TO HAVE A GOOD TIME. Do anything but spend your time and money here.
Mean Green
Not sure how they keep the pace moving but every other muni should study Rutgers GC. A packed Sunday and still just 4 hours. Amazing what a difference a good pace of play makes to the enjoyment of a round.
And these greens. Even with a big rain overnight, they’re gnarly and mean. Pins tough too. but always fair and true, and a great challenge to any level.
Unrealistic Pace of play
Tee boxes could use attention. Fairways were in good shape and so were the greens. Greens would be better if players had the etiquette to repair their ball marks. Biggest complaint is with the ranger, who ruined the round. Constantly pushing us to pick up the pace despite having no where to go. Two worst times, was on the 12th tee box when group in front of us was only 200 yards away in the fairway. Then, as we were putting, literally while putting, he yelled to us to pick it up as it was "backing up behind us." I looked back and the foursome behind us was just getting to the tee box (par 4) and the group in front of us was still teeing off on the par 3 17th in front of us.
Rutgers
The course is great. Usually the pace of play is good.
Just need some water.
This course is perfect bang for your buck. Never a bad round at Rutgers. During these hot summer days maybe a few jugs of water on the course would go a long way.
Favorite go to course
The course has been updated since I last played prior to Covid. The greens are nicely rolled and fairways in great shape. Will need to go back a few more time to learn the greens and the breaks. Very forgiven course. I played from the Scarlet tee and finished the round under four hours.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
I am BIG on pace of play, playing at a fast pace myself and emphasizing the importance of it to new players - but even I agree that this place was too forceful about it.
