Oak Valley Golf Club
About
Oak Valley Golf Club boasts the only Arnold Palmer-designed course in the Winston-Salem area. The course sprawls across what used to be old dairy farmland, nestled in the North Carolina foothills. Palmer utilized the rolling, wooded terrain and transformed the site into one of the Triad’s most scenic golf courses. The layout presents many challenges, including strategically placed sand traps along the undulating greens. You will also come across a fair amount of water hazards throughout the golf course. Palmer, known for his "go for broke" playing style, incorporated several interesting risk-reward holes and it has become what the course is known for. Good drives will be generously rewarded while an errant shot will make it tough to even get a bogey. Oak Valley Golf Club is a favorite among local golfers.

Oak Valley
All conditions were good, they aren’t punching greens until sometime in July. Shot one of my best scores! Course probably plays a little shorter with all of the downhill holes/tee shots. Love the layout, and it’s one of the last courses around with bent greens. If I had to guess they were rolling around 9 or 10. You could do way worse for $40ish or below
Oak Valley in Great Shape
Haven’t played Oak Valley in a couple of years. And was very pleased that I decided to play it on Father’s Day. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in great condition. Pace of play in a threesome was less than 4 hours. Very enjoyable round!
The course has a very nice layout.
The course was in great shape and the pace of play was god. The gentleman that checked me in was very friendly. I will play it again!
A lovely time
This course has a bit of everything! Really enjoyable experience with plenty of views from Mr Palmer. The first hole and maybe even second hole are a bit boring but it really ramps up towards the middle and end. Play smart and you will be rewarded. Pretty flat greens rolling medium and true. Maintenance team seems to be doing a great job. A must play top tier course in the local area.
Just an all round awesome experience
Grill closes at 5:00. Recommend it stay open later for twilight golfers. Other than that, beautiful large greens, nice fairways, and excellent course condition. Golf was excellent.
Palmer Test
Greens and fairways in very good shape. Some tees are a bit rough. Course is a fair test, no gimmicks and fun to play.
Fantastic course
The weather was in the low 80s. The course has everything you need to make it both challenging and fun. I have played this course a good few times (8-10 times maybe) and always have a brilliant time here. I would highly recommend it!
The Course
The course, the greens and the staff were great. Always enjoy playing this course...
Wow!
We were looking for a place to play on the way to Myrtle Beach and found this gem! Greens were amazing, layout was terrific, but the staff made it over the top! So welcoming that I wanted to do our trip there! Must try!
Excellent
I really enjoyed the course. The course is in excellent shape and is a fabulous layout with elevation changes and Watet strategically situated. Front nine took 2 hours, while the back nine took 2 hours 30 minutes. I will definitely play Oak Valley again.
Amazing value for a Palmer design
The designers did a great job with this course, and the staff keep it up very well. Since we were a twosome about two hours after opening and there were a number of foursomes ahead of us, they recommended that we play the back nine first, take a short break for lunch, and then play the front nine with a member single. It worked out wonderfully. It plays longer than the card due to the use of hills and water. Even the one jammed in par three (#8) is an attractive and challenging hole.
I would definitely return the next time I am in the area on I-40.
Top 3 course in NC!
This place was nothing short of spectacular. Great price and a great layout and course is In top shape. I will go back a ton! Really impressed! Staff was friendly and helpful! 11/10
