Black Mountain Golf Course

Got stuck behind multiple groups that would not allow me to play through. Multiple tee boxes in range of approach shots from other holes. The snack shack was being repaired so no food was available. Greens were in pretty good shape overall. No sand on carts to repair divots. Patrons don't seem to bother raking the traps after playing out of them. Fairways were ok overall.

Nearly perfect day in spite of so many golfers out on this day. The only picky comment was that the fairways are fairly firm, making it a little tricky to land that perfect ball contact. Otherwise, excellent conditions and a beautiful day that obviously brought everyone else to play as well.

Awesome views-challenging but worth every ache and pain!!!

A great course to play. It has a par 6 that’s a lot of fun. We had a lot of wind our day which put tree debris on the greens- nothing they could have done. The small eatery was closed so all we had was a drink machine. Views are excellent!

Said they were discounting rate for son (a student) but took what was paid online and didn’t tell him it had been paid.

Great place. A little unique in layout with a par six and some local knowledge useful but lots of fun, usually not too crowded, very blue collar and casual. I personally really enjoy it. Plus, you can most times get a pretty good deal.

Played in March and was impressed with the conditions of the course for being early in the season. Could have had a ranger to keep the pace moving. There was a very slow foursome three groups ahead of us that’ would not let a single and then twosome through, backed us all up.

I would definitely play there again.

The territorial views here are very nice, particularly in the fall.

Course conditions are pretty iffy in the winter months, but it's convenient to where we live and reasonably priced.

We've never been paired with other golfers who weren't pleasant.

Note on "advanced" - not just my age, but lots of experience in many parts of the country and at some very nice golf courses.

Woke up with a canceled meeting and a favorable forecast so my afternoon plans were made. Didn't want to travel far from Asheville so Black Mountain was the perfect choice. Course conditions were typical for this time of year but signs of spring were starting to show. Everyone associated with the course was super nice and hospitable. Will be back!

This is the 3rd time I've played this course and stopped after the front 9 due to the slow pace of play. All three times it took 3+ hours to play nine holes. Starting times on all three was 12:30-13:00.
