Backdrop is beautiful!
Beautiful views. Greens are good, fairways and cart path somewhat rough. Most tee boxes really close to the green before it. Enjoyed our day there.

Other than a few spots in the fairways and tee boxes this is a 5 star course. I come here every summer from Florida and this course is the main reason.

Great course to enjoy a fun round of golf
The man who checked me in was very nice and gifted me a booklet that had each hole with yardages which helped me since I had never played here before. There is a 747 yard par 6 that should be named the Boeing 747 hole #17. A golfer joined up with me and we played the course in less than 3 hours. The greens were pretty fast and were hard to read the speed and slope. A few holes had yardages a little long for a senior golfer that only hits drives 200-220 yards and to have a 3 par that is 200 yards is not right or a 4 par that is 390 yards is not right either. Some yardage for the ladies are a little long unless they can hit like a man.

The guy the clubhouse was friendly and helpful, he made a great first impression.
The ladies in the grill were sweet and extreme accommodating, our snack was made quick and great tasting.

We enjoyed the golf course

NO to the par 6
The course is in good condition and the greens are nice and rolling smoothly. Bent grass in good condition for this time of year. I do not like the 677 yard Number 17 hole. Move the tees up 150 yards and make it a more playable par 5. Nothing wrong with a par 70 course.

Fun mountain course
Played twice here in Aug. Very enjoyable both times. Pace of play VG. Beautiful scenery. Fairways have some weeds, a few greens with bare spots, but overall good condition and very playable. Lots of variety among the holes. They could use more directional signs on cart paths for those not familiar with the layout. Small, bare bones pro shop. No driving range. Overall, good bang for the buck.

Good value
Have played this course several times a year for the last 10 years and it is in very good condition for a public course with heavy play. Play was a little slow, but we were a threesome behind a couple of foursomes, so was to be expected. Greens were in excellent condition and rolled true. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to returning.

Typical mountain course
Fairways and roughs were not well manicured. Sand traps were hard packed. Greens did not hold the approach shot, putted true, were medium speed. As a first time player, we would have benefitted by having a course layout. It was difficult at times to determine where to aim the shot.

Cool design. Bad everything else.
Pace of play was awful, greens were rough and fairway was bad. They need a starter and until they get one or someone does it, I would play anywhere else but this course. People walk in the same group as people with carts. Foursomes walking and tee boxes are being waited at nonstop. Course was an awesome design and could be an excellent course, but pace of play and conditions just make it much worse.

Fun mountain course
This from a couple with HCs in the 20s. Very fun day here with more than enough challenges to keep it interesting. Fairways have some weeds but are kept mowed. Greens were weed free but a bit on the slow side. Beautiful views, many elevation changes. We'll be back to play again before heading back to SC.

Quirky, fun mountain golf
Overall, really enjoyed the experience. The first three holes were very slow. Course conditions were ok. Some very peculiar holes.

Fun course
Fun challenge. Only a couple holes really need improvement. Greens were in great shape but rolled slow. I know it’s not easy but tee boxes need to be leveled. Kudos to Black Mountain for keeping this course in excellent shape.
