Lochmere Golf Club
About
Located near the banks of Swift Creek, Lochmere Golf Club has plenty of water incorporated into the layout, coming into play on nearly every hole. The golf course stretches across a lush, gently rolling landscape sprinkled with mature trees and ponds. The terrain showcases the best in Triangle golf. At just over 6,600 yards it is not particularly long, but it provides plenty of challenges. It is a tight course that will test your accuracy with narrow fairways lined with trees. The small greens that are heavily protected by well placed bunkers demand thoughtful strategy and pinpoint control. The golf course offers a fair challenge but it is still accessible for beginners, especially from the forward tees. Lochmere G.C. is a favorite among Cary locals, both for its enjoyable design and its affordable rates.

Nice Course
Have only played this course twice, but it is very well maintained and a pleasure to play. Lots of fairly short par 4s with some narrow fairways and quite a few bunkers around the greens. The course rewards accuracy over shot length. My only minor criticism would be that the par 4s all start to look similar after a while. Highly recommended.
Good round, decent conditions
near perfect golf weather and pace of play. Fairways were a bit soggy in some spots but it didn't interfere with play. The greens were quick for sure however they were in decent condition.
Great Course Great Value
This is only the 2nd course I have played around Cart, and I must say I fully enjoyed the 9 holes I was able to play and sorely disappointed I did not have time for the back 9!
I was initially greeted by the Proshop
guy whose initial begins with a J, and he was a super friendly guy and we had a brief chat in golf as it stands now during the pandemic season of life. After our chat, I proceeded to the range to get loosened up. Which, their practice facility is outstanding to say the least.
Next off,, after a few warm up putts, I proceed to the first hole. An average length from the blues, so I might suggest the black tees I’d you’d like a little more challenge.
The course was in outstanding condition, tee boxes, fairways, bunkers (yeah, I ended up in 2), and the undulating greens were firm and well maintained.
You can tell the grounds crew takes pride in this course just as much as the owners and managers.
Thanks for a great time while I was in town. I will definitely be back!!
All the best!
Great Course, but Busy
You wouldn't expect the scores to be as busy as it is a Wednesday, especially with Covid. But, it's in great condition. Only downside is they still don't open the grill until Thursday and the course was as busy as any weekend. Overall, got to come see the place.
No joy playing here
Tee boxes bumpy and chewed up. Fairways scruffy and barren. Cart paths are in disrepair. Have fun elsewhere.
super fun
Great course for the price. At 7 dollars over what we spent at knights play this course felt like a steal. No too difficult, the fairways are typically forgiving. Each cart came with a Bluetooth speaker. There was a range. I'll surely be returning.
Waste of time
If you plan on wanting to play a 5+ hour round for $50+ dollars then be my guest. This place is constantly overbooked and they don’t understand that it takes more than 6 minutes to play a hole. You are waiting at every tee box for the next hole and the conditions aren’t even that good. Always has some swampy areas and tee boxes aren’t in the best condition. If they didn’t overbook it, it could be worth playing but morning tee times are too expensive. Way over priced for what you get, it would be worth driving a little further for a better experience since this is the only course in Cary.
Always a fun course
Course was in good condition. Fun layout with plenty of hazards and streams guarding the pins. Very short course but well laid out.
A little damp. But greens excellent.
Nice day. Wore my water proof shoes.. greens beautiful.
Nice. Round!
These folks are doing everything to keep their social distancing easy. Cart was sanitized, other golfers were aware and courteous.. course was in nice shape and when a few weeks go by should be great!
Driving by range and putting area are nice. Yes
While it was a sunny day and not that much rain very recently, the entire course was standing water. Truly, it should have been closed until it could dry out just a little more. I'm not a complainer normally but it wasn't a playable situation. Greens however were in great condition especially for winter.
I’ll wait till spring
What do you say about a 5+ hour round hitting off mud?
